High Quality

The album is out. Something disappointed.

I would stretch to say this is their best album since Achtung Baby. I think it's that good. Wow.

It's not a bad album, of course not. But something is missing, there are things that I like a lot, 3 or 4 songs that sound very refreshing, and others very well written, but ... it lacks more movement, maybe a couple of rock songs or something more exciting .

In any case, I've only heard it a couple of times, so this album may grow over time.

Summer of Love is simple but beautiful.

This sums up how I think as well.

There are lots of ballads, but they don't mean as much, when they're all next to each other and you have no rockers in between. Good albums usually have a balance of both. Songs of Innocence, while not overly impressive on a song-by-song basis, had that balance and thus was more enjoyable to me.

This is their equivalent to The Circle - not necessarily bad, but is essentially modern U2 by numbers, unwilling to take any risks or "let their hair down".

I have read that U2 will finish their career with Songs of Ascent. The last record.

U2 close off their career with Songs of Ascent. The last song on that album has some lyrics reflecting Out of Control, their very first release. U2 come full circle. The album does have a bit of ‘Swan Song’ in it.

A new version of Mercy would be in the works, and The Edge says he’s already “working on some new ideas and compositions”

And even more, it could become a double album. SOA could see the light in 2020, its forty anniversary.

Looked at the presale for the O2 arena show. Level 4 seats face value of £208.50. Unbelievable

A little underwhelmed by this newest release. Some good tracks, for sure, but a backward step for me.

Anyone see the setlist from the new tour? 27 songs, and HALF of them (13 songs) from songs of innocence and songs of experience.

Also, here's the zinger - not one song from Joshua Tree - including no where the streets have no name, and no with or without you. Also they debuted some songs they haven't played in years - including some odd choices like the first ever performance of Acrobat from Achtung Baby and Staring at the sun for the first time in a couple decades from Pop.

I actually like this ballsy move, but i also really like the new album. But the worst of it all, is the best song on the two new albums wasn't played - The Little Things That Give You Away. what are your thoughts?
