David Bergman For Pollstar The small circle of friends and colleagues who have heard 2020 say it’s some of Bon Jovi’s best work – which is high praise indeed coming on the heels of This House Is Not For Sale, which garnered similar accolades when it was released in 2016. “Jon’s new music is some of the best work he’s ever done and has a timeless quality about that makes this new album so special,” Azoff says. “The new single is one of the best things he’s ever done,” Hallett says. “The new album is amazing and the new single from that album is amazing. He’s truly an artist. He defies aging, he defies trends, defies fashion. He’s Bon Jovi and will continue as long as he wants to.” '' |
JBJ: "My hesitation was, I had no idea how John Shanks was going to be on a stage or on the road. And then, because we're such close friends. I could honestly and only with a slight smile say, 'No, because you're a huge pain in the ass.' He says, 'I promise I won't be a pain in the ass, can I please come?' And I know what he meant by that. It was like, 'I want to be in a rock band again, and why not this one because I've been such a part of it for the last decade-plus.' It was an easy fit. I didn't have to go though and audition process. He's, like I said, a great player. And it worked, because in truth, I think he was closer to Richie's or Bobby bandiera's guitar-playing style than Phil X is naturally, so it works really well to have him out there."
Shanks President! Ops -_-. |
While I don't necessarily agree or like what Jon is saying in this interview, it's hands down the most vulnerable and open Jon's been about subjects like hit singles and touring and what it means.

1) they won’t tour uk next year. Too soon after the last tour. Even in that article Jbj says things are going to be done on a 3 year cycle so that countries are ready to see you again. Probably get a THINFS type one off but not a tour 2) I seriously doubt the new music is some of the best Jon’s ever done. It would have to be a massive jump in quality from the last 3 albums.
