Question: Velvet Revolver
"After rumors, road bumps, and name changes, the supergroup Velvet Revolver, featuring Stone Temple Pilots' vocalist Scott Weiland , fronting former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Matt Sorum, along with Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Dave Kushner have signed a recording deal with RCA...."
"...Fans' first live dose of Velvet Revolver came in June, when the group played a short set of covers and originals at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. Bootlegs of that mini concert quickly circulated online..." I copied and pasted that blurb - the first I've read about this. Does anyone else have any other info about this group - recording plans - tours etc. Does anyone know anything about the bootleg mentioned? I've had my head buried in Bruce and Bon Jovi this summer and this just caught my attention. There is a website with some downloads but most of the links are messed up or won't play properly :( Kathleen |
Velvet Revolver have confirmed that they’ll release their debut EP/DVD through Immortal Records in mid-October. This will feature one new studio track, ‘Slither’ (produced by Bob Ezrin), plus the covers of the following songs recorded live in June: ‘Bodies’ (Sex Pistols), ‘Negative Creep’ (Nirvana), ‘It’s So Easy’ (Guns N’ Roses) and ‘Sex Type Thing’ (Stone Temple Pilots). The song ‘Set Me Free’ (from ‘The Hulk’ soundtrack album) will also be included.
