Their worldwide sales of the first two CDs were enough to allow them to not only keep recording, but also to tour on a worldwide scale. Even if they had just kept the pace of the first two, they would have been around a while. Not every act that stays around forever has mega-selling albums. Some just have steady followings.

I doubt it - Thats the album that threw them into the limelight. Without Slippery, there wouldn't have been New Jersey. No-one would have gone to see the shows....

they've often said that SWW was a make or break album. without that i think they would have folded.

Bon Jovi was not exactly well known at the 7800 time. Just another hairband. In fact, I don't think they would still be around (in this magnitude) if they didn't cut their hair and sobered up. They'd be another freak-roadshow. |
yes SWW saved and made them IMO...Crush in a smaller scale helped BJ bounce back after the 5 yrs absence and shoved them back into the limelight.
