Just wondering why they have to be relatively low key bands? Someone could actually say their favourite bands are Led Zeppelin & The Rolling Stones for example. I, personally, haven't heard much by those two bands so it would still be a new experience in giving them a try.

But I may be missing the point completely! :p

Well, you can listen to Zeppelin and the Stones whenever you want really - but I've never heard of most bands that were mentioned above and I think that's the point of this thread!

Saosin - Lots of creative guitarwork + great vocals. But the best thing about this band is the drummer.

- - -

Enuff Z'nuff - a lot more like Bon Jovi. Terrible name and horrible look in the 80's but great melodies and songwriting in general. A strong Beatles influence on them.

- - -
Westworld - one of Tony Harnell's (from T.N.T.) many side projects and in my opinion easily the best thing he's done. Lots of heavy and catchy riffs.

Lykke Li - Really not sure how many people would like her, but I'm guessing some may have heard of her as she has appeared on Jools Holland. I like her stuff. Her album 'Wounded Rhymes' has some great songs on it. And I'm posting links from that album.

'I Follow Rivers' - 'Get Some' - 'Sadness Is A Blessing' -

Quality idea for a thread!

Kurt Vile: I'm not sure if many of you guys are familiar with his stuff but i'm really into his music at the moment. I was introduced to him via a friend over a few beers - really easy listening stuff.
Baby's Arms: Jesus Fever: (this is a cracking tune!)

Kyla La Grange: I heard Kyla's music through a promo video my university released. The tune they used is cracking as is some of her other stuff ...
Walk Through Walls: Been Better:
Matthew Perryman Jones: Nice easy listening acoustic stuff, i stumbled upon his music after watching a tv show one of his songs featured in. I really like this guys voice!
Looking For You Again: Only You: Where The Road Meets The Sun:

Yeah - that's a good point. In my mind, Wolfmother/ Jet/ Airbourne type acts are already too big to be here. But if they are smaller, that should be fine. Does that work as a relative measure? Anyhow, I am sure we'll be calling them out if they are too big so nothing to worry about.

Oh, I didn't realise Airbourne were that big? Pretty sure the only reason I know of them is that they're AC/DC wannabes.:p And Australian, but there would be plenty of Aussie artists I don't know.

Anyway, let me have a little think and I'll come up with my three and check out all of these.:)

Hah! Some great music in this thread.
I'll post my 3 bands, then we can get the voting to start throughout the week. Gives me plenty of new music to listen to at work. The voting ends on Friday. You can still nominate bands if you haven't done so, but no later than Wednesday please.

The voting should be in the following format.

Nickname of person who nominated
Name of best band out of the 3
Optional: Reasons for choosing the band you chose (this would be cool to do, just to understand why people prefer a band over a different one)

Let's ride :D
