There we go, my nominees:
1 - SKIN (old school hard rock band from the early 1990s. Have some tremendous power anthems. I think they were on tour with Bon Jovi in the mid 1990s. Originally from WALES) I was lucky enough to meet these guys at Hard Rock Calling last year. We had such a blast of a time. Thierry was there too I think. They told us how their amps blew up when they first opened for Bon Jovi in the US because of the different voltage settings in the US. Seeing them next week supporting the Little Angels in the same ****in' Shepherd Bush empire. It's becoming my second home really :D Songs: Look But Don't Touch (proper melodic rocker - mix between Bon Jovi and AC/DC really) Born To Rock 'n' Roll Stronger (their lead single from their latest album, great melodic rocker!) ************************************************** ************ 2 - StoneRider (new band from Georgia. Started a separate topic for them. Kick ass old school hard rock, mix between Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and Creedence Clearwater Revival. They are out of this world live) Songs: Bad Lovin Never Felt So Good (fantsatic rocker. just gets you going really, no questions asked and the guitar sound is out of this world) Breakout Hair of the Dog (Nazareth cover kickn' so much ASS!!!!) ************************************************** ************** 3. C.A.S.H. (they call their music style '**** 'n' Roll'). I've had so many beers with these guys that it's enough to supply a small town for a year. Unfortunately, the guitar player fell out with the singer and they never made it big. Just before signing a record deal with RoadRunner. Very unfortunate. Still. Their music is out of this world. Songs: King of the Moon (power metal tune with a tremendous chorus. simply blows me away!) All Behind Almighty Queen (used to be my favourite songs of theirs when I saw them live)… They used to do an absolutely KILLER version of You Give Love a Bad Name. Drive the crowds absolutely mental. No footage of that unfortunately. |

great thread, DevilsSon! here's my 3:
Glasvegas 1 - **** You, It's Over ~ 2 - Flowers & Football Tops ~ 3 - Lonesome Swan ~ Patrick Wolf 1 - Bitten ~ 2 - Bluebells ~ 3 - Armistice ~ The National 1 - Mistaken For Strangers ~ 2 - Slow Show ~ 3 - Bloodbuzz Ohio ~ Arcade Fire might be too big, so i chose The National instead. although i have no idea which of these two would be bigger worldwide. not sure if i'll be able to vote, as i'll be going on holiday tomorrow. i will though if i still can when i return. |

This is awesome. I love so many of these bands.
Put together a Spotify playlist with all the artists that were nominated. For some of the bands, I couldn't find the recommended songs so I have taken what spotify recommend. Only a couple of bands. Feel free to use the playlist if it makes it easier. It's 70 tracks, 5 hours of music! Also, some of the nominations I didn't take into account as they were some random youtube links. Please do it properly and I will include. Happy voting! Loving the Trews and Glasvegas so far. Kickin ass!!! http://open.spotify.com/user/devilss...GleMZEKY4dEuKS EDIT: Not sure you get all 70 songs from the link. Just look for Jovitalk Bandstand on Spotify, you should get it all. |

I'm going to predictably throw in the perpetually underrated Jellyfish.
Basically *any song they have ever recorded*, but for 3 - - The King is Half Undressed - - Joining a Fan Club - - Baby's Coming Back - |
Just a heads up, the Westworld on the Spotify playlist is some different Westworld. So check my post for the songs by the "real" Westworld.
This "wrong" one sounds pretty funny though. :D |
