90% of Frontiers Records' roster is BJ influenced to some degree. Of course, that'd be 80s Bon Jovi... check out Crazy Lixx "Blame it on Love", too:

And as far as My Chemical Romance goes, nah, the Black Parade, especially the title track, owes more to Queen than to BJ.

Yeah, the title track doesn't sound like Bon Jovi, but you can certainly hear the influence in Famous Last Words (which Gerard Way actually said himself was influenced by Bon Jovi) and Teenagers (which literally sounds like Bad Medicine, especially the solo). Also Disenchanted and I Don't Love You have a Bon Jovi vibe as well.

Isn't Teenagers in major? I've heard the comparison between Famous Last Words and Bon Jovi before, but it always seemed way too melodramatic to me to be BJ. It's easily my fav track on the album, though.

According to Google Teenagers is in E Major and Bad Medicine in A Major, but listen to both solos back to back and also compare the chorus of Teenagers with the verses of Bad Medicine and I think you'll hear what I mean 😅

Gerard said that the big chorus of Famous Last Words was inspired by the big choruses on Slippery When Wet. It's one of my ultimate faves on the album as well!

Bad Medicine is in E minor, no? The G is way too prominent for A major, although I guess the whole rock & roll scale thing allows for it. It feels more minorish than Teenagers (ironic, given the titles).

Also, for the record, I never cared all that much for Teenagers. Famous Last Words (as I said), the title track (super close behind), The Sharpest Lives, This is How I Disappear, House of Wolves - these are all super duper great, though.

I've never played Bad Medicine, so I didn't know the chords, but I just looked at some sheet music samples online and they're all written in E Major, but there are natural signs to get rid of the G#s during the chorus, and I also just tried playing the vocal melody on the piano and there seems to be some back and forth between G and G# in the verses as well, so I guess that's where the minorish feeling comes from. It's definitely not A Major though, just like you said - I don't know why so many websites claim it is. E Major actually really makes much more sense anyways, since Teenagers is in E Major as well, and if you play the songs back to back, the pitch sounds the same.

I love that entire album, but I guess my favorite tracks are Famous Last Words, Disenchanted, the title track, I Don't Love You and This Is How I Disappear. Well, okay, and I guess Teenagers as well 😄

F*ck me, I just skimmed through this full show of theirs and noticed that literally ALL the frontman tricks that the singer uses have been straight up stolen from JBJ - even down to his banter with the audience (including signature JBJ one-liners such as "are you with me" or "how're we doin' so far, OK") and on-stage mannerisms:

To put it simply, it feels like watching a tribute band with their original music. They even have Prayer on their setlist!

Yeah I agree, he needs to take the inspiration and make it his own, not be a British JBJ

Whoops... Come Back much?

I also find this song very BJ inspired (although the intro is quite Aerosmith-esque, the rest of the song sounds pretty much like pure 80s Jovi to me - key change and all):

Jeez - that song (Blame It On Love) is as "I Just Died In Your Arms" by Cutting Crew as can be! Total rip-off :o
