I remember Aerosmith asking for it at least.

Great Tune and fits perfect. I think anyone who grew up during that time will understand this next statement.

At a time when people listened to albums all the way through, Social Disease was the song between Prayer and Wanted. It's a staple song on that album especially because of the intro. Back then you didn't listen track by track. You listened from start to finish.

Everyone back then also knows that when you flipped over that tape and the guitar intro to Raise Your Hand takes off, it's the continuum of an epic journey.

Replacing Social Disease is like fixing mistakes in the original Star Wars movie.

It's the bridge between Prayer and Wanted... putting anything else in that spot just wouldn't work.

I don't hate it, but it is my least favourite track on Slippery. Borderline on the other hand, 110% should've been on the album (as with Edge).

Those who are saying you don't understand why people dislike it... I feel the same way about Without Love. I think that's a great track.

Side note - I edited the track and deleted the intro so no surprise sex noises if it comes on shuffle

I love the London Horns version from London 1990, both Wembley and Hammersmith Odeon.

I was just about to post that as well, yes its true Tyler wanted it for PV....I thinks its a great song, it fitted in with scene of that era
, its one of my faves on the album. I actually rate it above bad name, less pop more rock with a certain sleaze feel to it

Social Disease always was THE skip song on Slippery for me. It never did something for me.
So because of that thread I gave it another listen. I think Richie's guitar work is superb, as usual in that period. And the verses also go over pretty well. But the chorus is the problem. It lacks the power that Bon Jovi choruses usually have. It almost seems like a guide vocal in a demo with just Jon singing it. If they had done the chorus in a different, more powerful way with the band singing backing vocals as well, it would have been a better song in my book.

Similar here, though I kind of feel that it would've worked better for Aerosmith.
But of their 4 big albums, this and Woman In Love are my skip songs. I don't mind Social Disease, but it does nothing for me.

Social Disease Thread

I’d never pick it out to play on a playlist but when it comes up on the album I enjoy it.
Damn the pizza parlour jury who deemed this and without love better than, Game of the Heart, borderline and edge of a broken heart.
