I'm starting to have high expectations with this. Phil is very proud of that solo.

We more or less know by now how that solo sounds...

Wouldn't that be kind of dumb if Jon wrote something like "You were born to be my baby" at nearly 60 ?

In my opinion and regardless of what I think of the songs, Jon is right to write and sing Unbroken, American Reckoning or Do what you can if that's what he feels like doing.
The mistakes are songs like Limitless which don't belong anywhere.

I don't think there's anything wrong with boy/girl songs and well written love songs (either ballad or not). Said it before but I'll take the hyper-specific topic's he's writing over Live-your-life but I'd be down for more boy-girl stuff if the effort is there. I have a sneaking suspicion Shine and Luv Can fell more into that world and losing them tipped the vibe of the album.

He plays Born To Be My Baby almost every concert. Now, if you talk about writing a boy girl song now, there's nothing wrong with that. Like if you are into your 60 don't have feelings?
Anyway, he said a record not a song (he already said this record is about hope, life and love and that there are some songs that express different emotions, since the environment, politics and human relations.)

Nothing against boy-girl songs. Superman Tonight, Make a Memory, Thick as Thieves and many others from the recent albums are great.

I’d rather these than songs like the 4 we have heard from 2020 so far.
