Do any of you know about his new band i heard abit yesterday on TV but missed what it was called Velvet something, and have you heard any of the songs?

Velvet Revolver, their new album is called Contraband. It's to be released June 8 I think. The line-up includes - Slash (GN'R), Duff McKagan (GN'R), Matt Sorum (GN'R), Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Piolets), Dave Kushner. I've not heard any of their stuff yet but I'm looking forward to.

The album got 3/5 in Classic Rock btw.

you can watch the video for 'slither' on their website. got a good riff, decent solo (although similar to sweet child). not a bad song at all.

Not a bad band at all, plus the record company has got big plans for them and a huge marketingcampain might start. I really really hope they will be touring Europe soon. I've got a bootleg from one of their American shows and they're really good ! :)

Slither is a pretty good song, although all I can remember offhand at the moment is Duff's backing vocals :?

I just saw the video on their website, cheers Richie. Yes, it does have a typical Slash solo. A good song, I'm looking forward to getting the album now.

Umm, not bad, but I expecterd more. Never mind, maybe the album's great. I'm not too much of a fan of Slash without Axl, he just doesn't ROCK any more, it's like page without plant, or Perry without Tyler, the magic seems to dissapear...

Based on few bootlegs I have, Velvet Revolver is very promising. They even play few GNR tunes, nice bonus :)
