Stereophonics - Graffiti On The Train

So - Question.......Whats happened to this band?
Loved the single Indian Summer. The first two songs on the album We Share The Same and title track are good followed by Indian Summer.

After that the album just goes into accoustic or slow dirge.

Really poor album. Id give 4/10 and thats for first 3 songs only. The rest is bland.

Such a shame as they discovered their mojo with Love, Sex etc but since then have returned to being bland again.

My deluxe edition has been posted but hasn't arrived yet. I agree L.S.V.O? reattached their balls after the two previous mundane albums. Pull the Pin was decent Keep Calm and Carry On was 50/50 for me. Overall since their rock facelift in 2005 I've not really been disappointed on the whole.

I liked the new single a lot but now you've mentioned this I'm quite disappointed. I'll wait until I've actually heard the album though.

YGGT2CB did grow on me eventually, but JEEP is as dull now as it ever was, so who knows.

LSVO was a fantastic album and was needed after 2 albums of instantly forgetable songs.
Since then they have gone back to being dull.

Well, had a gift voucher for Itunes and bought the album for £7.99

This is why you should never judge an album on 90 seconds worth of music.

The album is very good. The songs are not slow and boring but they are atmospheric.

I really dont think ill listen to 90s of music again. Nearly missed out on a very good album.

Well the reviews I've read so far have been positive, and it's been noted for it's darker tone. My copy's arrived so I'll give it a listen tonight.

And..............................?

Seeing the band tomorrow night, for the 4th time. Looking forward to it - Violins and Tambourines, and In a Moment are going to be epic live.

So you open a topic, make it look like you post a review on the album and then it turns out you were judging 90 second snippets of a band that has changed it's style multiple times over the past 10 years?

Yeah...

I haven't dug into the new record yet, apart from In A Moment which I did found a bit dull. I have a feeling this'll be a record that's very good in your stereo on certain moments but won't translate well in a live environment.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Haven't got round to it yet. Room is being redecorated and stereo isn't set up yet and I rather listen to new albums on CD through good, nicely set-up speakers. :D
