I actually love Fahrenheit (probably because it is still fresh as it is not over played)

10 In & Out
09 Only Lonely 08 Price of Love 07 Secret Dreams 06 Tokyo Road 05 Silent Night 04 Hardest Part 03 To The Fire 02 Always Run To You 00 King Of The Mountain For me, In & Out Of Love is the ultimate hard rock song. No matter how cliched or a bit familiar-sounding (Heavenīs On Fire) it may be. It rocks like no other song. Listen to that riff. That distorted Les Paul sounds amazing. I have spoken. |

My main problem with the first 2 albums (and partially Slippery) is that they are so young sounding. Granted, they were young. They were barely in their 20's. Until they did hit it big, it seems like they were just doing it for the money and the sex.
Don't get me wrong, some songs are great. But the albums are nowhere near as consistent and complete as some of their later albums. |
What I will say about 7800 is that unlike any other Jovi album and I include the debut album is that it sounds very dated.
The debut does have that 80s sound about it but they could release Runaway today (a few touch ups needed) and I think it would be OK. Nothing from 7800 could be released today and the songs are not typical Bon Jovi songs. The drums sound hollow and the vocals sound like JBJ was standing in another room when recording them while in a dustbin (trash can for our American friends!) I like it but can understand why people dont. Its not classic Jovi and it sounds dated but its still a fav for me. |
