I honestly couldn't understand most of what Eddie mumbled, but if I caught it correctly, he called Jon "forty." He can take that as a compliment. LOL Otherwise, it just comes across as sour grapes to hear someone like Eddie Vedder dissing someone who's more successful in multiple avenues.

Much the same as listening to any of his music.

I think he said something along the lines of a "forty year old butt rocker"
though I could be wrong.....

you have obviously never heard the Soundtrack to Into The wild. My all time favourite album. No other record has moved me to such extent. Even more so considering that I don't like Pearl Jam at all.

Anyhow, a "a 40 year old butt-rocker" cracked me up. And all the comments about Vedder being "jealous" and what not are just retarded. Just as a reminder, when he was accused on riding the success of Nirvana, Vedder decided to not film videoclips any longer...videoclips, probably the main driver of record sales in the 1990s. Still, Pearl Jam are probably the biggest band to come out of the 90s. He's just honest. I also think JBJ is a butt-rocker although I'm a fan. There's things he does that make me be ashamed of being a Jovi fan...the ass shaking at concerts is one of them and many people here pointed it out. Now suddenly Vedder is a bad guy. What the hell...

Not to mention that JBJ ranted about everyone from Axl Rose, to Justin Timberlake, to the Darkness, to Michael Jackson. But that's usually fine...

I say this with all unbias sincerity - Many of these bands are jealous of Bon Jovi. There isn't one band that has ever slagged off on them that is more successfull, and BJ have done it without critical acclaim, controversy or a shitty attitude. They haven't broken up time and again like other bands. And one thing that I'm sure sticks in their craws is that Jon, make fun of them as they do, is a hell of a lot more savvy and intelligent than they are. If his music career ended today, he'd have something to back up on. What the hell would Eddie Vedder or Noel Gallagher do?

Oasis aren't as massive as they used to be in the UK. Other bands are usurped them of late.

Funny you should say that - That was my favorite movie from last year, and I've had the soundtrack since the day it came out. I love it. And yes, I can understand what he's saying, most of the time on that one. The songs fit the movie perfectly, especially Long Nights and Society.

I think Guaranteed is the best song on the album, but every single song is just a masterpiece in its own right. Every now and then I take a long walk and just listen to that record 2-3 times in a row. Just amazing stuff...

I couldn't agree more - it's fantastic. I read the book when it first came out and was really sucked in - I loved it. But then I am always more moved by a book than a movie - I usually hate what Hollywood does to my favorite books when they make a movie.

This was was done well though and the soundtrack really fit the movie. Not your typical overwrought Hollywood score

Javier - go buy the damn soundtrack - it's not that expensive and it's worth it LOL.

I know I'm 12 years late to comment on this, but I don't think Eddie hates Bon Jovi, just Jon's attitude and his "tricks". We all know what Jon is like.

A later date, in 2017 Pearl Jam was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame. Jeff Ament (the bassist of the band) wore a t-shirt with all Bands/artists that he loved and the Rock n Roll Of Fame was ignoring them. On that list, there was Bon Jovi. (Interestingly, Bon Jovi was inducted the following year.)

The T-shirt:https://www.instagram.com/p/BSor1Cmg...ource=ig_embed

Do not forget that all artists have an ego and an opinion. Reminder video: Something For The Pain. A video that was basically poking fun at the grunge music and hip hop of those years, including an Eddie impersonator.
