The Distance... What's your take?
 

Do you like The Distance? I hadn't really been fond of it until about a month ago and now It's in my top 5 favorite Bon Jovi songs. Where would you put it on your list of favorites? Will it be one to keep on tour?

The song sucks, it's an overproduced tune. Thierry told I sucked when I said it to him, and that I should hear it in concert, which I did, and I thought it still sucked. No extreme guitarsolo of Richie could help that. Funny thing is, that I really like the acoustic version of it. Not that I'd put it in my top-20, but then it's an okay song.

Its ok but deffiently not one of my faves i have a great list, ok list, and crap list and it would be on my ok going towards crap :? I just dont find it that good but i know alot of people think its great.

I really didn't care for it until I heard the version on the Japanese TLFR that I bought. I heard it live many times this past summer. I had the bootleg from Yokohama but the sound was not not so hot. The version with the strings on that recording gave me chills the first time I heard it. I'm still not too sure that it works live but I sure love to listen to it now.

the distance is a great song, and works brilliantly live, with richies solo (which should have been on the album) and then the acoustic with jon...very good, with great lyrics too...better then bounce live too :D

Heh, at least there's someone else besides me who hates it. :) I don't want Bon Jovi playing Creed, let's hear some original songs for a change.

It's a good song.Even tho I didn't like it upon first listen,it has grown on me.

It's my favorite song off Bounce and one of my top 10 (?) or so fave Bon Jovi songs. I think it's a great song that should have been released as a single. And I loved hearing live last year.

I think it is the best song off Bounce. The lyrics have so much meaning to me and I can really relate to them right now. I think that is why a lot of people like it, the lyrics really hit home, as with a lot of Jovi's songs. It is awesome live both acoustically and electric. I don't think it resembles Creed's music at all. Bon Jovi have their own style and sound.

Can't remember the name of the song, but it's basically a carbon copy of a Creed song, with the same guitar sound and all...

great song... recorded or live.. really gives proof that they can continue to write and perform great music. Anyone that bags it has the right too, but they gotta be alittle, eh.. ill leave it @ that.

when I was listening to Bounce for the first time, I liked nothing but this one and this is the only one out of the album I listen to regularly - so yes, I love it! And it's great live!

I didnt like it until I heard it live last year. Its still not one of my faves but it has grown on me

And then again, it doesn't have to be a copy of a song from Creed to sound like Creed. The entire sound on The Distance is Creed-alike. Overproduced guitars and all that stuff...

I like the song a lot ! Not in my alltime favourites-list but a good one though :)

I cant remember Its been so long since I felt inspired to listen to Bounce. Have to give it a listen again and see if it passes.

Bounce has two similar songs The Distance and Love Me Back To Life. The Distance is pretty neutral song it doesn't make me wanna start rocking or anything but I won't skip it either if I'm listening Bounce. Between those two songs I like LMBTL more mostly because there's parts that make me wanna start rocking.

Maybe Distance is a bit of dissappointment to me coz it sounds like a song that I could have written. If I get a feeling like "this is just like one of my songs" I don't like it coz I'm always looking forward to something new and exiting but that Distance is not. It's just a nice little insignificant song.

One of the best on Bounce. I think it's a well written and mature song. It would mean a lot more to me if I was in the right situation. That of a lover who is far away from his/her partner and is doing all they can to breach the gap between them.

I think the Distance is a great song. I love performing it with my band, it has alot of energy.

I didn't really like it that much when Bounce first came out, but since then I have grown to really like it. I especially like the slow ending when it is performed live.

My fellow Jovi friend just died last year from
Cancer and that song kept her going... It was her fav....
so It's hard to listen to Cause I just think of her
fighting so hard to stay alive
and then losing the battle :cry:
