Stereophonics Single and UK Tour

BAnk Holiday Monday is Awesome!!! Up there with BArtender and the thief, Just Looking and Madam Helga for a decent Rock song.

Heard Bank Holiday Monday a few months ago. Decent enough song, very Word Gets Around era. Duno if that's a good thing though, cause it makes me wonder if they're starting to get stuck for ideas and inspiration. Alot of bands from the 90's seem to be going back to their winning formula these days aswell. Manic Street Preachers and Ash to name a couple. I'm still looking forward to Pull The Pin though.

Here's the tracklist for Pull The Pin, due for release October 1st:-

1. Soldiers Make Good Targets
2. Pass The Buck
3. It Means Nothing
4. Bank Holiday Monday
5. Daisy Lane
6. Stone
7. My Friends
8. I Could Lose Ya
9. Bright Red Star
10. Lady Luck
11. Crush
12. Drowning

I agree about BHM sounding like the Words gets around era. Id love 12 proper Rocking songs, thats what Phonics do best.

I wouldn't call myself a fan but I like some of their stuff, especially Maybe Tomorrow and Traffic, and A Thousand Trees ain't bad either.

Bartender and Dakota bore me a bit though...lol

Two months early huh?! :D

Many thanks for the heads up. I've listened to this four times now...slowly growing on me...shame there are a distinct lack of uptempo rock tracks...

Yeah, maybe V2 should be more careful in future as to who they send the advance copies to.

It's a decent album, better that JEEP (which isn't hard but even so) but not as good as L.S.V.O?

Neurotica80 08-23-2007 02:07 PM

Not their best CD but its very listenable. Will have to listen to it a few more times, think it will def grow on me though, Phonics albums always do

Phonics albums either grap me instantly or not at all. WGA, P&C & L.S.V.O? grabbed me straight away but JEEP never has done. Tried listening to it over the last 5 or 6 years since I got it but has never done it for me. I only really like Vega Two Times, Mr Writer and Nice To Be Out. The rest I find dull.

One album that I didn't think much of first but eventually grew to live was You Gotta Go There To Come Back. At first I thought it sounded like JEEP II butabout 9 months later when the re-released the album with Moviestar (which I love), I gave a good listen and has become a gem of mine. It also brings back some good (and maybe not so good) memories of 3/4 years ago.
