I like "Sexy Bitch" better. I think they ought to stick with that. :D

Listened to THINFS album in it’s entirety yesterday......still really like some songs.

Incidentally, is Knockout the worst song in their entire catalogue? Hate it so much.

One thing that really stood out on several songs was the lazy guitar work. GBTM in particular was so annoying with that shitty repetitive lick. ****ing lazy beyond belief.

Never known a band with essentially two lead guitarists play so little actual guitar on albums.

I find it quite odd considering Shanks is a decent guitarist himself that the guitar work is so minimal and basic.

Am I the only one who likes Knockout? Certainly not the greatest song ever, but enjoyable enough

I've never been a fan of it.

I remember hearing it for the first time and being so disappointed. I love boxing so the title really struck me [emoji23]

Genuinely one of my least favourite Jovi tracks of all time, I almost always skip it on the album. As well as Born Again Tomorrow. A bad double whammy for me.

The 2019 Unnamed Album

Can’t listen to THINFS due to its utter shitness.
Agree with the 2 guitarists comments - ones a Heavy metal guitarist yet it’s the same flimsy piss poor riff all the time. Ironically my fav 3 (and the only 3 I’ll consider listening to) GBTM, LWTG and DITT had the potential to be phenomenal monster songs but are let down by a serious guitar solo and riff.
DITT needs a epic solo and play out but doesn’t get one. LWTG has that exact whiny dull play out that saw Water Made Me on WAN become a wasted opportunity to have a great play out and GBTM end up being Jovi by numbers.

The way JBJ went on about that album I couldn’t wait to hear it but it was so bad it made WAN look like a masterpiece.

Knockout is bad, but there are worst. Come up to our House is more boring for example..
I very much agree with all the rest. It is super strange and super stupid to have such lazy guitar work.

Step 1. Get Youtube Premium
Step 2. Go to gym
Step 3. Set knockout to 1.25 speed (1.5 if you're a psycho)
Step 4. Start exercising

Result: You'll look like late 70s Arnold Schwarzenegger in less than a week.

Matrix15 05-15-2019 11:01 AM

Alternatively;

Step 1. Get Youtube Premium
Step 2. Buy a strong rope
Step 3. Set Come on up to our house to 0.75 speed (0.5 if you're a psycho)
Step 4. Tie one end of rope to a strong beam and other end to neck

Result: Your cat will have eaten your body to survive in less than a week

Eveline 05-15-2019 02:46 PM

Guys, I haven't listened to this album for months. If this is the maximum the band can achieve musically these days, then I'm not at all curious about the album in the making. Well, maybe only about the lyrical side of it.

The "I hate Jon Bon Jovi" club has taken over DC, just saying. WOW!

Or some people just don't like the album and that's perfectly normal opinion to have as well?

DestinationJovi 05-16-2019 12:36 AM

Thank god rosa is still around to defend all things JBJ no matter what.

What would Jon do without her? Lol

Jeeper 05-17-2019 12:10 PM

So, Phil X seemingly thinks THINFS is a rock album......

How relieving! I already thought we had all agreed on the fact that there's a difference between not liking some of Jon's work and hating Jon.

He needs to shut his pie hole and take a seat. He used to be so humble. That has changed very quickly.

Rollercoaster already comes with a pre-sped up chorus - I wonder what the results would look like if you set that to 1.25 during a gym sesh.

DestinationJovi 05-28-2019 01:34 PM

Jon and Jesse were in a segment on Extra last night about their wine. At the end the interviewer asked Jon about the new album. He said it'd be out this year or maybe next year.

Obie said to an Argentinian fan that this is not the last Bon Jovi tour, that they have a new album completely finished, recorded in Nasville that will come out early next year with new tour. Mixed in Abbey Road by Obie when they were in Liverpool, last month.

Abbey Road Studios isn't in Liverpool.

I remembered, Shanks also mentioned before about to send the songs to LA, and about the songs are constantly changing. Who knows?

BonJovi100 07-23-2019 08:23 PM

I talked with Obie in Warsaw. I asked him why they didn't released more Box-set like NJ Deluxe Edition. I asked if low sales was main reason and he agree but he said that it wasn't only one reason. He said that in next year they will release something.. Maybe new album or live cd from this tour.

Oh god, Oh god, if they are going to launch something live next year, please, don't be anything related to this tour. Better to be something commemorative, such as a Hammersmith Odeon 1990, a legendary concert of the One Wild Night tour or a double CD with the best performances including the oddities of the circle tour 2010-11.

I would love that at some point they made some launching of the vault with rarities, live and demos, unrreleased songs,,,, in several EPs. That would be so cool.

Captain_jovi 07-23-2019 08:53 PM

I'm in the minority on this but Obie mixing the album fills me with a lot of hope. I prefer his producing style to a lot of what we've had.

His work on demos have been good... His work on live releases have been terrible...

Bob Clearmountain took care of The Circle mixes, I think remember, and the album still sounds majestic to me. I just hate the decision of that Coldplay - U2 - The Killers style of that moment.

And George Marino was the best Mastering Engineer. (Slippery, New Jersey, Keep The Faith, Crossroad, These Days, Crush, OWN, Bounce, TLFR, 100 Millions Fans... Have A nice Day, and The Circle)

You know why? Because it's easy and don't cost anything... Typical Bon Jovi Inc checking the box of releasing a compilation without taking any die hards into consideration... I'm still trying to figure how the the greatest live band in the world gave us OWN Live as their only live CD to date...

If he told me that, I would have given him an honest reply by telling him that's a terrible idea. If he asked why, I would tell him to pull those plug out of his ears and listen for himself...

Hundred percent agreed. His production on I can make a living out of loving you is what I want the band to sound more like.

Obie once told me,back in 2010,that he was working on a live CD with the best covers the band had played through the years.
Dont believe any word Obie says to the fans.

There were also rumours that Obie wanted to include the Hammersmith footage in the New Jersey Deluxe edition in 2014, but Jon refused to pay for it being remastered. I don't think we'll ever see that.

They'll maybe do some lazy live album, probably consisting of the songs they autotuned to death for Youtube already. It'll be as creative as the Lost Highway and the THINFS live editions were.
