Not very uncommon to record an album in multiple studios or maybe just a change of environment for inspiration.

Because that time JBJ "opted to work in the City" (New York), a lot of the THINFS album was recorded at Avatar (Power Station), other was Electric Lady...
JBJ is writing since last year summer for this new album.

The rock band Bon Jovi will release a new album

American rock band Bon Jovi, who will be giving her first concert in Moscow on August 31, begins work on a new album. This was announced on Wednesday, March 6, in a conversation with TASS by the leader of the group, Jon Bon Jovi.

According to him, work on the album will begin on Saturday, March 9, in the capital of the US state of Tennessee, Nashville. It is assumed that by June the musicians will record 23 new songs.

“There are no titles for the album yet. Now this is just a selection of songs, but I am very glad that they exist. So far, these are only recordings on my smartphone: I sing songs on the phone, and it turns out to be of poor quality. As soon as the band gets together, I will show them these songs, and the work will begin, ”said Bon Jovi.

In November 2018, Bon Jovi participants talked about the surprises the team is preparing to perform in Moscow in 2019. The frontman of the band John Bon Jovi noted that the new concert will be very different from the 1989 performance at the first in the USSR rock festival Moscow Music Peace Festival with the participation of international international teams.

Bon Jovi became the first group, which the USSR government officially allowed to speak at the event. The album of the New Jersey team was released by the Melodiya record company, which was not possible for any other foreign group.

REALLY liking that he's taking rough demos and bringing them to the guys.

Are you angry at that number of songs? What's the magic number that could change your response to a positive?

What do you think all those pre-production demos are? It's the analog version of that.

I mean maybe. The translation is a bit rough, to me it sounded like pre-preproduction, rougher demos. Either way if he's singing and strumming into his iphone that sounds like it's pre that stage. Or at least I hope.

YOVANAfromPeru 03-06-2019 09:58 PM

1. The other article google translation is: "We are starting work this week, on Saturday, in Nashville (Tennessee - TASS approx.). We will record 23 new songs. I do not know which one will be a hit, but by June the work will not be completed. There are no title for the album yet - now it's just a selection of songs, but I am very glad that they exist. So far, these are only records on my smartphone: I sing songs on the phone, and it turns out to be of poor quality. As soon as the band gets together, I will show them these songs and the work will begin. So it is usually done."

2. Nice to see JBJ saying that the most popular hits are from SWW and NJ albums, Ha

3. They may have six rehearsals for two days every month: March, April and May

4. JBJ doesn't think rock is dead, me either... just sayin'

With the exception of New Jersey, they've never had an all killers, no fillers album.

Yeah, but they've always done it this way. What used to be a cassette tape recorder for capturing ideas then turned into a phone. In 2009, Jon even played a demo off his phone from WWBTF to a DJ in a radio interview.

Captain_jovi 03-07-2019 12:13 AM

Hmmm for some reason I was more jazzed it wasn't the process of 2005ish where the demos are the final tracks. But maybe it's always been this way.

So is he finally ready to admit that they are a nostalgia act? In that case stop trying to record a hit and just make a killer album!

I wish he'd back that up by actually making a rock record. I still think that the key to doing this would be to let Phil have more input, but it's never going to happen...

In the second interview Jon was asked about his memories of their only concert in Russia. He answered they had (in 1989) two very important albums, SWW and NJ, on which depended their career and which included their most popular songs. And he used to rely on SWW and NJ hits to establish contact with the audience, but then they came to the USSR in 1989, and nobody knew those songs. So he had to find out another way to capture people.

That phrase about hits can be misleading without context.

Ahh, ok, so he didn't say that at all. Thanks...

Plus in another tweet. Phil pretty much confirmed he's playing on the new album so that's good!

Yeah, since he was doing a Q&A before boarding a plane, and Jon's going back into the studio tomorrow in Nashville, I'd say it's a safe bet that said plane is destined for Nashville, even if Braden hadn't mentioned it.

Or it could just be a coincidence; and he's actually flying to Timbuktu.

(Nah, probably not.) :D

Let’s hope he does more than 4 non existent solos on this album.
Let him have an influence.

I believe that Phil-X will only go one day to the studio, to play only one sustained note on his guitar. I have the gut feeling that this note will be a C.

Then Shanks will take over and using delay and several other effects, he is going to make it into a reef.

He will use that reef in several songs by resampling & transposing the key.

Finally he might use some of this precious one note output to construct a solo, which miraculusly (with the studio mastery of Shanks as explained earlier) will be turned into a two note solo (as opposed to the one note solo's of Bobbie and the many non-solos of Shanks).

:-D

Phil X with them, the full band in one room for working on the song. Off to a decent start :)

Lol, Johnny is literally in the church (Ocean Way Studio).

David Bryan posted a pic from the studio wishing "his brother from another mother" a Happy Birthday. The guys have really fit PhilX into the circle. Joe Bonamassa replied to PhilX and said that it was the OceanWay Studio A if anyone wants to be precise. They are not listed on the website as bands who have used the studio there, so my experts out there - is this the first time? I know they have recorded in Nashville before.

Excited, any prediction on time frame from start to release date? They could finish the entire album quickly as far as studio time goes, if the songs/music is ready and with Jon's work ethic. It won't be a "soon" or a Chinese Democracy at least. I'm hoping for my Euro friends that some teases may make your set lists. Possible!
