Bon Jovi for the movie armageddon?

Is it true that bon jovi was originally supposed to play the theme song for the movie armageddon?? Aerosmith - dont want to miss a thing is the song but i heard that bon jovi - save the world was supposed to be the theme??

either way aerosmith did a great job i'm just curious if it's true

No, it's not true.

Jon wrote and recorded the Song Mr. Bigtime for the movie and Jon also wrote Save the world for the movie but the movie makers took the song of Aerosmith.

Bon Jovi never were involved in the movie. It was just Jon.

Jon never even presented them with Save the World because of his friendship with Steven Tyler.

For me "I don't wanna miss a thing" is far, a mile better than Save the World.....one of the worst songs on crush......they chose right....

I agree Warrior.

Save the world would have been a great song for that movie. It's so catching. It realy gets to me. But I don't wanna miss a thing to so it didn't matter what they choose...

i have read that jon wrote the song save the world for the movie but when aerosmith gave their song, too, he decided to withdraw the song out of respect for aerosmith. i guess it's another way of saying 'they chose aerosmith's song instead of mine'. :P

Didn't he withdraw it because Aerosmith already had written a ballad?

Aerosmith didnt write the song. Cant remember who did it was the same woman who wrote the theme to star trek enterprise as well tho.

I think her name was Diane Warren or something like this.
