musically I don't know if they didn't have the time to rehearse with those kids or whatever (like I said since yesterday sounded wrong), there's some good voice in Richie and what happened with the guitar, no guitar? Pf...
and about if Richie was drunk or not, I'm not an expert about detecting that like others here who have parents with alcohol problems, etc. but in general everything was weird.

I totally agree with this... He was decent vocally but something just didn't feel right... I'm not saying alcohol or pills but Richie is just not Richie. It's like if Richie had a twin and he was stepping in to pretend to be him... He looks like him, acts like him, talks like him but you just know its not him...

Yeah, it is always weird to see him without a guitar. Vocally he sounds better then he has for a long time, but you're right the kids really didn't seem to know what they were doing in Prayer, so as we've often seen with Richie, he just hasn't put in the rehearsal time...could have been a fantastic performance, but it just didn't quite cut it. Still, it's good to see Richie in good shape, physically and vocally.

Dragula 11-16-2018 09:51 PM

I don't think it was that bad. The choreography needed some work but his vocals were decent. He always looks awkward without his guitar but I think he ditched it so he could have more interaction with the kids

Good shape? He's not fat but I wouldn't call him being in good shape.

What is this 1995? Are you just googling jokes and trying to be funny... You still haven't matured... Aren't you like 50 now?

BTW, I guarantee I'm ten times better looking than you.

That was a mess, no excuses; or now are you going to say it’s okay because it was a free show??? Come on

It's no wonder, he still thinks it's 1995. He's a little slow.

His voice sounds strong, but other than that this performance was a complete disaster. And it's not because of the kids.

Sigh...for a 60 year old guy he's looks to be in decent shape...espeically compared to how he looked a couple of years ago. Why do you always have to take everything so literally? He's never going to look like he did in his 30's is he. Sometimes I don't think you guys realise how old these guys actually are...

As i said earlier, it's because of lack of rehersals...same old problem...

I don't see anything wrong with the way he was acting. I thought it was nice how he was trying to interact with the kids, if a little over the top, but Richie has always been OTT

Are you that lazy?
Read the article, it says:

"Sambora performed Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On a Prayer” and Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me” with the Point Pleasant Boro Choir at the onset of the show. He later closed the night with “Respect Yourself,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Tears in Heaven,” “It’s My Life” and “I’ll Be There for You.”"

Yeah if you're gonna come in here and get involved in the discussion at least do the due diligence to try. If you're asking, you're interested. You would have torn yourself down if it was another poster that did that.

YOVANAfromPeru 11-17-2018 04:03 PM

He was talking to me, losers!
and he meant that that article is very boring until the part Richie is mentioned...

I don't think anyone has ever used 'Rdkopper' and 'effort' in the same sentence.

But why even try when you're already the most knowledgeable fan in the world

Living on a Prayer
Lean on Me
Respect Yourself
Bridge Over Troubled Waters
Tears in Heaven
IML
IBTFY

I thought the songs worked very well with the theme "Unbreakable: A Forum Against Bullying." They all offer words of comfort, encouragement, support, and self-respect. Which songs would you have chosen? Just curious...

I like the song; but I have to say that, of all of them, that one seemed to be the least related to the forum. Maybe he was going more for the "unbreakable" spirit.

What I really liked about it is that I had just emailed a friend about the songs he had done without his guitar; and how he seems awkward without it, rambling around and not getting back to check the lyrics (which he obviously needs, since it seems like his memory is shot to hell!). I told her what I'd like to see Richie do is get back to basics; come out, sit on a stool with his guitar; and just sing and talk to people about the music. He could have the lyrics nearby, so it wouldn't be as obvious. Or, even if he had to admit that he needed a prompter, there's no shame in that.

Not 15 minutes later, she sent me the link for 'Tears in Heaven'; and there he was... sitting on a stool, playing his guitar, talking to the people, with the lyrics nearby.

He should listen to me more often! :)

This! Read somewhere quite a similar thing and those guys came to a conclusion it's Richie's crisis of identity. After so many years of being a guitar player and Jon's wingman, he suddenly wants the spotlight and the mike only! He's clearly lost but this is what he wants. Badly. Maybe it's something we need to get used to, at least for some time.
