You've made reference to this a few times. Personally, I don't see the problem. I really enjoyed it. I knew from the first performance it was Richie and he sounded great and looked like he was having a lot of fun. It was also great exposure of him and a great way to showcase his voice. I thought he complately killed it on Hallelujah. Now, the fact he didn't capitalise on that, that's another story...don't get me started on that.

By why is Richie doing it any worse than Bret Michaels, Chris Daughtry, Justin Hawkins, Dee Snider, Sebastian Back or any of the others that have done it!? It's fun Saturday night TV, that's all....It was certainly nice to have something fun and positive to talk about on here for a change!

I mentioned it once in this thread and then asked another member what they thought of it.

I really don't see what there was to capitalize on personally. Once they get revealed they are forgotten about and it's on the next one.

I do think it's embarrassing but if richie and co had fun cool.

I'm only really somewhat familiar with the north american version which I find to be vapid. I will sometimes go the end of the show to see which joker they unmask. I do get a kick out of how exicted the judges/audiences get as if it's gonna be some huge star like Brad Pitt or something then they have to pretend to still be excited about some d-list celeb.

After the show Richie was on a lot of TV programmes and Radio stations over here, talking about the show, and also taking about Bon Jovi and his new solo record. It was the perfect opportunity to get exposure for his new music, and it was a massive missed opportunity. It's the most publicity anyone in the band has had in years over here.

I didn't follow too much about Richie's new album and i'm wondering if it's done, if he's continuing the writing or something...

Someone of you knows what were the latest updates about it?

they might have been interested to know if he'd be returning to a huge band like Bon Jovi, but I don't think there is much interest in a richie sambora solo album, which is why it probably didn't go anywhere. it was just a 15 minutes kind of thing or do you think richie just flamed out?

Regardless of how much interest there is, it's still an opportunity to promote what you're working on let people know "a new album drops in a few months, check it out" it may not move the needle a ton on sales but it shows your working towards SOMETHING and still putting out music. I don't think he flamed out but I don't think he has a PR team in place or any kind of label support (or label) that would have made sure a single was ready to drop.

Not putting out literally any teaser of one of the songs online when eyes were on him is such a missed opportunity, especially for Europe, one of the few countries that could support a new Richie tour and music. North America, yeah I see your point.

No one knows anything. Last we heard was after the Masked Singer when Richie said it would be out in April or May last year, but nothing happened.

I don't mind him not releasing stuff if he says that he just wants to just make music for personal joy and play an occasional gig here and there. He's in his mid-60's, no one blames him for retiring if he doesn't want to put himself through these "cycles" anymore.
But then don't drop snippets every full moon and tell that you're still very much an active solo artist in interviews and that that album is right on the cusp of release.

It's written, he's been on a tear, written the best songs he has ever done, and the single will always be out in a couple of weeks, with the album in a month or two.
