My Guitar Lies Bleeding in my Arms

I don't know how to categorise this song, is it a ballad?

Marijke 04-06-2004 01:55 PM

Well I think it is. It's very good and I would say it's a ballad but with lot of power in it!

Jag 04-06-2004 02:09 PM

i woudlnt call it a ballad at all...some ppl classify it as a rocker but im not sure i would even go that far.

Vany 04-06-2004 02:14 PM

I think it's a ballad. It is my favourite song. It helped me through some sad times... I love it allot...

Lampinen 04-06-2004 02:16 PM

A ballad doesn't have to be a love song. I would definately call this a ballad.

Captain Walrus 04-06-2004 02:28 PM

It doesn't particularly matter whether its a ballad or not (and yeah, I know I had that rant about In These Arms not being a ballad in the other thread, so thats a bit hypocritical 8) ). Its just a great song. But if pushed, I'd call it a blues rock song, not particularly a ballad

Why is that important? :?

Freddie 04-06-2004 09:42 PM

rockballad :? :?:

mreto 04-06-2004 10:23 PM

for me definitely a ballad. and a very very good one. probably the best bon jovi ballad. (at least in my opinion)

peewee 04-06-2004 10:25 PM

I thought that a ballad was a song with slow tempo and love lyrics, but my guitar lies bleeding has not love lyrics, talks bout life and desperation. Well, thats my opinion. BON JOVI FOREVER. RIPP OFFS FOREVER!

Aidan 04-06-2004 10:25 PM

I think it starts as a ballad, but after the guitar solo it becomes a very-very powerful song, and I think it's very sad one

SpainSambora 04-06-2004 11:46 PM

Its a...song

Sara_NJ 04-06-2004 11:52 PM

:? I always thought it kind of couldn't be categorized, just like all of Bon Jovi's music. Some people call it rock, others disagree and call it pop, and some call it pop rock. If I had to categorize AMGLBIMA, I would probably go with what Freddie said, a rockballed hehe. Either way, its a very powerful song...

Fleurtje 04-07-2004 09:27 PM

I dunnow how to catorgize it!!
But it is a ****** great song :D :P

Becky 04-08-2004 12:45 AM

I think we try to slap labels on things too much. If it's good, it's good and it doesn't matter what category it falls into.

It's my favourite song on the TD album. Whenever i listen to it loud my mum comes in and asks me if i'm ok, and if i need any help cos apparently if you listen to that song, you're suffering from depression.

One of their best songs of all time - passionate, powerful, and beautiful.

I'd be depressed if I came from ye olde Granite City. It's nothign to be ashamed of, you need to come to terms with it :D

jerseygirl 04-11-2004 08:07 PM

The first time I heard it, I also thought it was a kind of depressing song :( , but later on, while really listening to the lyrics and understanding them in how I feel sometimes, it always has a positive influence on me..
I think it's one of their best songs ever ! (I actually miss those strong lyrics in their latest songs..)

NicoRourke 04-12-2004 12:56 AM

it seems to be a ballad at the beginning but it ends in fury!!
My favourite track on the these days record!

Plien 04-12-2004 12:38 PM

I'd call it a POWER BALLAD 8)

Did you know that it's the most depressing place to live in Europe apparently. Out of all the countries in Europe, the UK is the place with the most depressed people, Scotland is the place in the UK with the most depressed people and Aberdeen and the surrounding area is the place in Scotland with the most depressed people. And did I mention that Aberdeenshire is the sucicide capital of Scotland? And the fact that the football team is one of the worst in the world also adds to the depression factor.

Lets face it saz, the whole east of Scotlands a morbid depressing place. anywhere east of Hamilton is really.

That could be a future Jim bon jovi useless trivia though.
