"If That's What It Takes" anyone???
 

So with all this song-threads popping up lately I thought I make this one up to see if there are other people who dig this tune. I was just listening to the These Days album, and again, this song was sticking out. I always loved it - it has nice lyrics, but more important the music is fabulous. The whole structure is well conceived. Not only the chorus is great, but the overall energy and that midpart is just amazing. It gives me chills, especially the "I'll be there before you hit the GROOOOUUUUNNND" part. Plus Jon's voice sounds great in here. That all makes it the most underrated song on TD imo (just like "Two Story Town" on Crush).

I love it as well, always have. I believe this and Hearts Breaking Even may be the two most underrated songs by the band and the fans.

I agree about the construction of the song, it's flawless. I also love the lyrics in this one, there is something about the chorus and the "prove it to yooooooou" part I just love. That's one of my favorite parts in any Jovi song.

Changing the lyrics in the chorus the last time around is a nice touch as well. I think that's something older Jovi has over the newer stuff. There's hardly any varation in the choruses in the '000's.

May I ask why? I've noticed we normally have around the same taste.

Great song, I can't understand why no one seems to like it. I agree with everything JBJEveryday said, plus I'll add that the outro is flat out awesome ... Jon messing about with the structure of the chorus is fantastic.

(I also agree that Two Story Town is the best song on Crush ;))
