Something you really should see

Since the F1 2009 season just started, let's remember THE champion...

1)
"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose."

"I want to do something special. Every year there's a champion. I wanna go further."

2) The best lap ever (Donington 93):

Prost, Berger, Hill and others talking about what happened:

Many thanks for those. I know I've said it before, but I was a huge fan. No one -- then or since -- drove like Senna. What he had is so hard to put into words. An entirely different level of boldness, confidence. He just seemed to believe he could put the car wherever he wanted it to go. Those were amazing days in F1. Just curious -- do you actually remember Senna's driving or have you learned of it since he death?

No need to thanks, actually I remember very well, it was always a family routine to get up early and see the qualifying on saturday's mornings and watch the races together on sunday's. The same happened in probably every family I know.... lol

And I also do remember quite well the day of his death, I have never seen a country reacting like that, it was something in the same level of Kennedy's death for americans or Lady Di's death for britains...

UKjovi 04-02-2009 08:21 AM

I bet it was like Kennedys death. I remember watching that very well. Kept thinking he should be moving by now but of course he didn't

Oh that was an awful day. And I had the same thought -- why isn't he moving. The crash didn't look as bad as so many others, but that's the sneaky, evil part. The big wild crash that looks like it will be so bad frequently isn't because the energy is being dispersed. But a crash like Senna's (or Earnhardt's) -- all the energy is still there when the car hits and stops.

Enough of that. I'd rather think about his driving.

Monaco '91 Pole Lap, Senna had already the fastest lap (0.7s better then nr2 Prost) when he decides to shine and put 1.4s ahead of nr2.

Some things are so bad that they're good, but this is so bad that it is unbelievably bad -

Surely no-one can sing that bad and not know it?

I enjoyed that actually. I've never heard a Taylor Swift song in my life, I'm going to assume she is nowhere near that ballsy on her own material?

Rick Astley, who stormed the charts in the 1980s and whose Never Gonna Give You Up video inspired the internet phenomenon of "Rickrolling", was also priced by the survey at £25,000.

Did he ever sing live?? All I have seen so far (I don't mean those rehearsals but generally) was playback... I know he was an incredible dancer but I thought he sang live on his shows..

This is not meant as any offence. R.I.P Michael.

mo_rizwan 09-10-2009 05:32 PM

Bad Tour 87 was 100% LIVE. Some songs during 89 were MIMED

Billie Jean - Yokohama '87

Dangerous Tour 92/93 was (imo) 60% LIVE. the rest was MIMED

Beat It - Bucharest '92

Man In The Mirror - Bucharest '92

HIStory Tour 96/97 was 95% MIMED

Smooth Criminal - Kuala Lumpur '96

Oh, thank you for the research!!! You must be a big MJ fan, don't you? I have probably seen videos only from the HIStory tour - becasue I really love You're Not Alone. And it is the tour when he looked like a corpse and didn't sing. It's very obvious right during You're Not Alone - he hides his mouth when it could be too obvious that he is only lip synching. He just shout some extra words at the end of the song.
Was this because of his health? That he wasn't able to sing live anymore??

mo_rizwan 09-11-2009 01:01 AM

During the second leg of Bad Tour (1989) he was advised to rest his vocals due to Laryngitis.

Other times, it was just pure laziness imo.

Irishshin 09-29-2009 09:47 PM

Just watched this. Black Eyed Peas - I Got a Feeling at the Oprah show.
Love this song and its an excellent dance!!

Don't know where else to put it and don't want to start a new thread.

This one's for Ice.

Don't know if you you've already seen it. KISS were at Wetten Dass (where Bon Jovi had been in January). The show is about bets and one had to do with KISS. So, after their performance they went outside to Michelle Hunziker on the screens to see how that bet evolves. Look around 6:10 when the one guy shouts it out loud (pun intended) in classic KISS vein... :)

*ºÇåptäîn¤Çrä§hº* 03-01-2010 02:04 AM

And although the host lost the bet, KISS performed spontaneously outside after the end of the show...
