On the same show they did an impressive performance of Hey God. Good ol' times.

Fair point :D
I was relying on Jon's "good days" when he's capabale of "singing" all the "words" :D

Kriegentragen 07-08-2013 10:28 PM

Legacy one:

The first time I listened that song I heard "send some money" and was like "WTF".

Maybe I missed it, but I still haven't seen the most obvious one posted here.

WHADAYAGATIFYANGALAAAAV - what do you got if you ain't got love.
Although that's pretty much the same for the studio version as well.

Nope, he usually skips "and I wasn't" and goes for "there when you were down".

And that is probably why I put that part in brackets

He replaces "and I wasn't there" (which you didn't mention) with "baby".

Uhm, that's probably why I replied the way I did. I don't think he replaces "there" with "baby". And I did mention "there".

Interesting.

Just quickly re-listened to some versions since 2010. I had assumed baby because of the numbers of syllables I thought it made most sense. Now I think it's "or there when you were drown" (OEEEEIUUEEDAAAAUUN). It makes more sense lyrically than "baby" or simply "there"

nickolai 07-11-2013 09:40 PM

You lot would all be devastated if Jon started to pronounce his words properly. You fickle lot

Come on, this thread is clearly just a bit of fun. It should've ended like 7 pages ago, though. Only a couple of the examples in this thread actually sound like Jon.

LOL. That could be a good compromise! ;) Also, it's "down", not "drown".

Well I certainly hope mine sound like Jon!

I think that is by far the biggest cluster**** of words I've ever heard him sing.

If I didn't know the lyrics already, I would have no idea what they are listening to that.

efiste2 10-09-2013 01:04 AM

It might be possible, I'm sure at least one staff member is watching fan boards.

I wouldn't normally bring up old threads but I thought this was pretty excruciating.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...y6YzKkGE#t=137

During the second extended "Amen" it sounds like Jon's having a seizure.

HAAAAAAAAYMEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

HAAAAAAAAYMEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHHHEEEEEEEEYYY YYYEYYYYUN

I thought it was a pretty good performance otherwise.

BJFan99 05-21-2016 11:21 PM

Imagine Jon singing "Save The World" live nowadays:

"Aaa gea seeei huwaaa..."

Or "In And Out Of Love":

"Iiiaaauuulaaav..."

Or "Taking It Back":

"Tegiiibeaaa..."

Rdkopper 05-22-2016 12:43 AM

Save The World is one of the most underrated Bon Jovi songs out there. I think it's the opening verse that kills it but once you get past that, it's like the sequel to Always

Often heard on the THINFS tour during RYH:

HAYEEEEEEEEEEE HEYYYYY LOOKIFOSUHENDEEEEER = I ain't looking for surrender

Whilst you're obviously right Jon's way of pronouncing things has gotten progressively worse, if you type anything in English out phonetically it's going to look ****ing weird

liljovi93 03-31-2021 12:15 PM

The twitch he's developed and the pronunciation getting worse is worrying.

By the "twitch", do you mean the maneuver where he kinda shakes the mic stand after delivering pretty much any slightly higher/stronger note?

No, the way his right eye has a twitch when he sings now. It's been noticeable for the last 3-4 years I'd say but seems to be getting worse.

'On A Night Like This' with the close up shots really made it look worse.
