No chance in hell Jon's going to be singing in 2034. If he can't get it together enough to tour for the 40th anniversary, why would he be good enough eleven years from now. I think the final dance is closer than we all are thinking.
I'm pretty split on what I'd selfishly like to happen next and what I think will but if we're getting a butt-ton of new old songs and that's it? I'm happy. I've made my peace with the state of the band live, I don't need to see him/them like that. Richie back? That's a tough call if it'd be worth the $$$ we all know it would cost. |

Who knows what will happen in the next few years, all I know is... never underestimate JBJ. |

Exciting times - Sounds like lots planned - No tour is the best news! Maybe some small story teller shows with Richie - Win win - Richie gets to be there and they get to be doctored and fixed before being put out.

There’s no doubt Axl doesn’t sound like he did 20 years ago, but other than Bryan Adams and a few more, NOBODY does (even Bryan said he was losing the high end of his voice). Axl still sings in tune and hits the notes or changes the song to suit and does a decent show. It pains me to say it, but it’s horrible to watch or listen to Jon live. Years ago I thought he should have gone solo/acoustic, I think it’s past that now unfortunately 😢 |

Bryan Adams sings better than 30 years ago.

That ”trying to get healthy” comment got me seriously concerned about Jon’s health. I’ve long thought something other than just a shot voice is also wrong with him, and this scares me :( I hope Jon is OK…

Bryan Adams always sang in his natural (low) register. As did Johnny from the Goo Goo Dolls. Both still sound great.
Jon tried to go for lower regions with Destination Anywhere, the record didn't do great. Back to the soaring choruses it went, and out of his comortable range too. As for the outlook; I'd prefer new (unreleased) material over a tour for sure. I'd love Richie to contribute to reworkings or new compositions and recordings, he's an asset not only on stage. No way Jon is gonna go solo at this point. He needs every set of pipes on stage he can draft. |
