Actually, posts like that are not disappearing. There are lots like that. Much of Backstage is not what you all think it is, especially right now. They're saying the same things we are over here. Yes, there's a healthy dose of idiots, but we have our nitwits, too. I've only been around the 2 boards for about 2 years, but this is, without a doubt, the most united the boards have been in that time.

Its workin

Dear Backstage JBJ Family,

Your concerns have been heard. I have brought your concerns to Jon, and as soon as he heard about them, he made sure things were changed. At each price level the Fan Club will offer the best seats possible. We understand that in today's economic times many people are not able to afford the big packages but we want to give everyone, no matter your financial status, the opportunity to see the Greatest Rock Show On Earth. We are offering more levels then ever have been offered before. Know that regardless of the level you choose, you are in for a night to remember. A complete list of pre-sales as well as pricing will be posted soon. Know that our pre-sales will start on Nov 2 and the days following. Each day several cities will be up at a time. Don't miss out!!! Make sure you pre-register for tickets when possible so the process is smooth and fast for you.

Here are some of the major changes we're making because of your feedback:

- For all shows going forward, including O2 dates already on pre-sale and the upcoming New Meadowlands pre-sales, we are offering many incredible "In The Circle - Ticket Only" seats and "Circleside - Tickets Only" seats at FACE VALUE so you are not obligated to purchase a VIP package if you want to sit in the first few rows inside or outside the Circle. However, you will still have the option of purchasing In The Circle VIP packages or Circleside VIP packages for all of these shows. These incredible seats will be sold through the Backstage JBJ pre-sale ticketing sites - just go to our O2 page or our New Meadowlands page for more information on how to purchase for each.

- For the O2 dates that are currently on pre-sale, we are adding lower-priced seating at 45 GBP that will go on sale Monday. Again, we are reserving the best seats possible at EVERY price level just for Backstage JBJ members - you are not competing with anyone else for the best seats in each section. Going forward we will be offering all price levels in the house for every Bon Jovi show.

We're excited that we are able to offer you, our Backstage family, more options than ever. Know that we ARE always listening to you.

Regards,
Matt

That post from Matt was made yesterday. Too bad today's pre-sale for the Meadowlands was such a letdown. :(

Following Matt’s response to fan club members comments regarding the 02 pricing structure.

We are being asked to accept that neither the Fan club, Matt or yourself are responsible for the ticket prices. In that case could we please be told where to direct our comments?
( feel free to ignore the rest of this letter in that case)

How is it possible for you to refer to yourself as the CEO of Bon Jovi enterprises and then deny any responsibility for the prices charged to see your band?

Matt says he understands everyone wants to be close to the stage.
Can you try and understand how it will feel for the hardcore fans of Bon Jovi to be scattered and separated all over the 02 arena in the “cheap seats” ?

There are thousands of us who have followed the band all over the world for years, bumping into the same faces making friends and sharing a special experience together.
The prices being charged for this residency will destroy that experience for us.

Its not about being front row, its about having a good spot to watch the band, laugh together see special moments, watch Richie tear up the Dry county solo and have those wow moments. Matt’s comparison to being front row at a movie is laughable.

How do you think it will feel for those loyal fans in row Z at the 02 to look down in the pit and see a bunch of city bankers who wouldn’t know a Bon Jovi B side if it smacked them in the head?

How will you feel Jon when you look out and don’t recognize anyone in the first few rows? Will you care?

It feels personal to people and it hurts them. If I wanted to be in the front pit I would have to save all of my disposable income for about 6 months, most of us are just the same.

These people who have followed you all over the world, bought all of your albums more than once, waited out in the rain, bunked off school or work to catch a show driven for hundreds of miles across Europe or the U.S to see a Bon Jovi show.

Are we now bottom of your list, to be replaced by who ever has the most in their wallet.
We have never expected to come backstage and pick up Richies guitar or touch your mike stand, all we ever wanted was to pay a decent price and get a good spot.
Is that too much to ask or expect?

There is not a single one of us who wants to feel animosity to you or the band.
Personally it hurts me to feel this way, and I know I’m not the only one.

Matt talks about banning people from anything Bon Jovi related for complaining or being rude, with the possibility of legal action. If people are taking it too far and making threats then that’s different and not excusable in any way.

We all know you are a very rich man, but I don’t believe that you are detached from reality.

These prices are scandalous, even Michael Jackson wasn’t charging this much at the 02.
Making booking fees stand at 27% of the ticket price is inexcusable. Asking people to pay over one thousand pounds to stand in the front pit is insulting. If I bought one of those tickets I wouldn’t be able to eat or pay my rent for a month.

If Bon Jovi are not responsible for these decisions on pricing, please let us know who is so that we can make representations to them.

If Bon Jovi are responsible please accept that you have upset an awful lot of fans. Please reconsider these prices.

If as Matt says we are a family, please show us that you are not above making mistakes. We have always had the bands back.

its on backsatge forums know, gettin wicked feed back ( i appear to be getting all the plaudits for the letter lol). Ace letter and JON has taken drastic action, well done mate

they managed to mess that up as well, oh dear, they coulfnt organise a piss up in a brewary:(

Give them some credit for attempting to address the situation but I don't really know what they can do at this point. The tickets should never have been sold like this and even "ticket only" is obscenely expensive (and not being offered it seems outside the FC). What are they doing about people already duped into buying them as ticket only who would otherwise have bought ticket only? What are they doing about the rip-off booking fees being so much higher than ticketmaster?

That they are trying to redress things is a start but there is much much more they need to do. Pissing off the fan-base (those people that have always supported the band, bought the albums, bought the tickets) is tantamount to commercial suicide and bridges need to be rebuilt.

btw, to the author of the original post here - you laid everything out very eloquently, clearly and objectively. Great letter.

This sounds like the apology Microsoft put out after Vista. Not exactly the kinda of language you want from your "real" rock band...

Your right but then still offering nose bleed seats at £45 where other bands are charging £30 still takes the piss
