Well, the last two shows of the tour are upon us.
Will it be vanilla tonight, or will the band pull out something special?

LMAO, it seemed more appropriate to say "tonight", had a better ring.

Sleep-When-Im-Dead 07-14-2008 12:29 AM

what kinda curfew has MSG got, assuming its 10:30 then i think something simalar to twicks night 1 tommorow. Standardish set with a couple of rarities.

It's not 10:30. Nowhere near. Macca went past 11 when I saw him, Bruce went from 8 to about 10:50, and Guns N' Roses started after 11 when I saw them there.

Sleep-When-Im-Dead 07-14-2008 12:58 AM

ah i stand corrected then, id like to think theyd give 3 hours each night, but with the hype twix had....and then didnt 100% deliver i dont know, i really hope they arent gunna play safe for the DVD

I don't think Guns N' Roses are overly concerned with curfews, so they might not be the best indicator!

I thought of that, BUT if they were super strict in enforcing a 10:30 curfew, i doubt they let someone start afterward.

Captain Walrus 07-14-2008 01:04 AM

MSG is an arena, right? They're usually less concerned about curfews, the sound shouldn't bother the local community as much

Yup.......

Kathleen 07-14-2008 01:55 AM

The MSG arena is in the heart of New York City. The city itself (which never does sleep) is far noisier than rock and roll inside at MSG could ever be. I've been there quite late - and if there is an actual curfew I never knew about it.

Same with Giants Satadium - if there was a curfew - I didn't know it existed. I was there until almost midnight on several occasions in 2003 when Bruce played 10 nights there. Bruce always starts notoriously late and sometime the concert wouldn't start until 9. At that time - Bruce was still doing 3+ hour concerts.

Frankly - until I joined this board many years ago and heard from the Europeans here - I didn't know that there were curfews at standard venues. Central Park would be an exception obviously as it is not an arena or a stadium - or even a music hall LOL.

I'm not going to Night 1, and I'm telling myself I really oughta not check the PBP tomorrow, so I don't spoil myself for Tuesday. Hopefully I'll hold up to that.

What time do we expect Jovi to come on stage both nights? I expect AAR will come on at 7:30, so Jovi would probably show up between 8:30-9?

How Long Does the Show Go For?

Since I'm going to night two at MSG, anyone going to night #1 will be able to answer this...

How long does the show go for? Two? Two and a half hours?

I'm thinking (HOPING!) that the last night may go a little longer. I think we're all in for something special :) Can't wait!

My hubby is picking me up after the show and driving in from Brooklyn so I'd like to know a roundabout time for him to head Manhattan way.

Thanks in advance!

Michelle

That will result in me avoiding the board and my email :p At least for 24 hours.

Of course, if you want, you could PM me a "yes" or "no" if they play Dry County, Hey God, or These Days (Jon Vocals). That would be sweet.

kenobi_on_a_prayer 07-14-2008 08:28 AM

How much longer before it starts?

severo17 07-14-2008 01:43 PM

Yeah... probably I'm going to make a stupid question but...
what the curfew?

Captain Walrus 07-14-2008 03:40 PM

Ugh, it's not even gonna start til like 1am in the UK :(

Oh well, I may stay up for the PBP anyways :p

TheseDays2005 07-14-2008 04:15 PM

The news just said this show has been delayed or even cancelled due to terroristic threats or something

I think you're gonna' have to prove that.

luv_ya_jon 07-14-2008 05:56 PM

Cameras allowed?

So what's the deal with cameras for MSG? Can I bring in a small one? They say they're usually prohibited on the MSG website...

Also, do you know if it's ok to show up at 7.30? Can I still get in? (I don't care about AAR, I'm going straight from work)

Thanks!

A small non professional camera should be just fine. They have never bothered me about one. Once, one of the guards said that as long as it didn't have detachable lenses it would be ok.

Keep in mind that if anyone says anything to you - every cell phone on the planet can take pictures these days. They do not prohibit cell phones do they?

You should be able to get in at any time - I have never seen them stop someone from sitting down even if the opening act is playing.

mo_rizwan 07-14-2008 06:12 PM

I've just got a funny feeling that we're still gonna get a good Bootleg (amateur) recording of this......just like Last Tour :)

LeaJovi 07-14-2008 06:14 PM

Well the day has come!

Tonight you guys will get STBI ! I Just know it!

About playing it safe for the DVD.. Im not sure about that because they can cut out the tracks they don't want in the DVD so.. the show should be great anyway!

Sleep-When-Im-Dead 07-14-2008 06:16 PM

oh please id rather they play safe then them chopping up the show for the DVD, jon could easily do an awsome show, heres hopining he actually plays it when he writes an awsome set lol

OMG, spammer! You must delete this, and cause a big fuss now!

Anyways, Paul - 1AM is early, don't be a wuss. :P I'll probably be here, you know you wanna stay NOW! LOL.

I've got a feeling there is gonna be a niiiccee setlist tonight. I think a few real suprises. Let's hope I'm not wrong.

JJx23 07-14-2008 11:39 PM

The MSG nights are going to be special, it's just a question of how special they will be. The final two nights.. It's really similar to a final couple night stand at Giant's Stadium, just at the Garden. Should be awesome.

Will there be a PbP tonight? Not sure if this question was answered or not, but I am sure there would be more activity here, but then again, the show hasn't started yet, lol. I'm sure there will be though.

Regards,

Jason F.
