Technical question

I don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but since yesterday I've been getting these annoying ad screens that take over every time I click on a thread. I have to x out before continuing to the thread. Is anyone else having the same problem? Is there any way to make it stop??

I have exactly the same issues.

Read the thread directly below about get.media.

Here is my solution which has always worked and I never see advertising.

If you use Firefox and then install AdBlock Plus you won't see any of these redirects or ads. I even have Firefox on my mobile devices and I never see any advertising.

Same problem here. Of course ad block software suppresses these annoying ad pages but then I can no longer access the regular sites I visit so I'm stuck with this sh!t

You can turn the software off for certain sites if they don't warrant it.

Not working for TV channels + it takes too much time & trouble to change the settings each time I connect to a new site and it won't work because of the ad-blocking software.

Yeah, two mouse clicks. It's exhausting.

Click on AdBlocks icon -> click on "Disable on thissite.com".

Thank You - added AdBlock this am and so far so good. Could actually hit quote without more ads and having to open in a new tab. Never knew which program to trust. On IE the other day I actually picked up Malware on this page. One of those something is wrong with your pc and if I closed it came back in multiples. I had to just shut down then run malware removal. Have to remember to not use IE with this page for some reason.

It worked great on my phone when I was connected using wi-fi, but when I don't have wireless it reverts to the ads, which are becoming more cumbersome to x out of, btw. Any suggestions?

We have a winner! Hey genius! Jon taught you the power of "we" but apparently ;) your teachers failed to teach you the power of "not"

Want/need more details? In France you can watch TV for free on your computer but you have to accept ads or else it doesn't work. When you connect to any TV channel a pop-up tells you that you need to turn down your adblock software if you want to watch TV. Changing the settings in the ad block software won't do. If I wrote "Not working for TV channels" it's because it DOES NOT WORK, plain and simple, is it so hard to understand???!!! And don't tell me to stop watching TV on my computer: I'm surfing the internet only while I'm "watching" TV. Multi-tasking? Yeah, always!

NB: am I the only one who noticed there were porn ads among all this sh!t? Who knows what cookies or spywares are invadingmy hard disk now whenever I connect to Jovitalk! I foresee a big clean up on the family 'puter tomorrow!
