Always Although we won't get anything like that tonight, and will get the current 21/22 song copy and paste- we can but hope for something different. 2017 Setlist will be posted here after the show as ever with Youtube vids when they become available. Have fun to all going tonight. Doors open at 6.30pm, show starts at 7.30pm with support from local band Liberty Deep Down. Looks like a decent turnout as most tickets on TM appear to re-sales. |
Just adding Runaway adds a lot to the set. Not sure if it's been discussed here, but somebody asked Jon at the last Q&A about playing I'll Be There For You or Bed Of Roses. He said something about not being sure they fit with the flow of the current set.

IBTFY, Livin In Sin, Make a Memory, Always in the same set. Today we have pretty much given up on any ballad except Scars.

My predictions about tonight's show:
There will be a tour debut... Captain Crash, where are you? We need a superhero! (I Love This Town will make its debut in Cleveland.) JBJ will sound like a 75-year-old WOMAN during 90% of the gig. I wouldn't be surprised if Jon gave Always a try again tonight, but I really, REALLY hope he'll save it for the last song this time - Blood On Blood, Wanted and Prayer sounded absolutely horrendous in LA as they were performed after Always. Blood On Blood won't be played, but Saturday Night will (hopefully with ad-libs for the first time in a LOOONG time). Bad Name and BTBMB will be played back to back again, and Knockout will be swapped for the 4th song in the set. Jon will go for the scream during the solo on KTF for the first time since 2011, but I'm pretty sure he'll end up just coughing like hell. Bad Medicine will be performed as a medley with Shout - or do you think the "wait a minute (weeeaaamiiineeeaaa)" part is too high for him nowadays? The rendition of Sleep will include snippets of both Jumpin' Jack Flash and Start Me Up. Also, Jon will go for the call-and-response "oh yeah's" at the start of the song again. Lost Highway will be done with the cool breakdown (á la 2011). BTBMB will include the extended "deep inside" part (á la 2006). Whole Lot Of Leavin' will be left out and replaced with Raise Your Hands. |

This whole post gave a me good chuckle... Would love to see Shout brought back. Also, that little breakdown in Lost Highway is great. Has Runaway been played on this tour? Wish they would bring that back as well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ya know, he could bring back the ballad version of Runaway from 2000, would be quite easy for him to sing. Am I one of the few people that loved that version of Runaway? Something haunting about it...but I agree, shows are getting stale, we need a different song in the set list, at this point I'd be happy to hear ol' Captain Crash!

Yeah I like that version too! But the electric version shouldn't be too hard for him to sing anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tour to tour, same old, show to show adding Raise your hands is a nice touch. Sad that adding RYH in 2017 is a silver lining :(

For those who are blaming stagnant sets on America's ADHD problem, stop. The US crowd doesn't like or respond better to LH or WLOL any more this tour than we have on previous tours. They weren't hits. The crowd doesn't know or want them but we power through, just like we would if Jon would choose to play something else.... anything else. Yes, the US hasn't got the diversity that Europe has received and maybe we don't deserve it, but this is beyond ridiculous. In the history of Bon Jovi, I dare to say the sets have never been this stagnant. Jon has a professional rock band up there. There are plenty of other songs in their catalog he is still capable of singing. They CAN throw the diehards 1 bone per show but besides Always they have only played 1 surprise this tour... and it was "I Got the Girl"... and it was because his daughter was there. What is going on? |

Couldn't agree more. Was at Atlanta and Greenville and had travel plans to see them in Denver and plans to drive to this show in Columbus. Glad I didn't for the same set. And at this point glad I didn't rebook a trip to see them next month in Denver. I miss the days when going to multiple shows meant hearing 5-6 different songs, that was always one of the greatest things about seeing this band live was the spontaneity of the show. |
I can't confirm this, but I think that the band actually played Johnny B Goode all the way through during Sleep, not just a snippet.
|
If he's sticking to these same songs because he's not fully confident in his voice, then it's strange he's gone for Always twice. If he can get through that, why not try Runaway or Superman Tonight or dozens of other songs which aren't nearly as difficult as Always?
Oh well, he has back to back shows coming up in Toronto and New York. If he's ever going to mix it up this leg, it might be there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's obvious with this tour jon is hanging on to dear life with his voice and the sets are proof of it. He puts on the act in interviews but it's obvious to people like us.
The reality is that this has been progressing for years post the bounce and HAND tours and now it's at the point where casuals don't know any better and unless people stop coming there's no reason to stop marching out there. I'm also starting to think the reason there are no video screens this go round is to hide his voice struggles from the casuals. Let's be honest... The majority outside of this board don't notice. |

I would usually agree with what you're saying, but then I saw the video of JBG cover he did. He seemed more confident singing that than any of his own songs. It's a sad day when the positive (?) thing we see in a concert is Jon not hanging to the mic whilst playing a cover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah but I feel like anybody can hear when someone is struggling to sing... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

But when you have a few long-time fans on this board who go to shows and claim that Jon sounds fine, you can imagine the (lack of) performance expertise by an average concert attendees. |
