Bon Jovi Ticket Sales

I am very genuinely surprised at how poorly ticket sales are doing. Now I understand it's only the first day of official sales, but for example - Look at the Little Rock Arkansas map. Only about 10% of the arena is sold!

But another question - the price points for seats at MSG have been fluctuating up and down over the last couple hours. At one point the same seat might be up to $50 more or less - and this isn't resale tickets - they're standard admission tickets. I bought floor tickets for night 1 during the presale for $169, but now floor tickets behind it are $199, but then an hour later they're $179 (which is still $10 over what I paid). I don't get it. That's the same with the $69 tickets. At one point they were 69, but then they went as high as $89. What gives?

Edit: now the floor tickets are $225?!

I'm trying to buy the cheapest tickets possible for night 2, but the $20 and $36 tickets aren't to be seen as well.

Can't seem to get tickets to Orlando. Don't know if ticketmaster is being a bitch. Also the inconsistent pricing is weird.

Becky 01-19-2018 08:11 PM

I don’t think I would use Little Rock as a point of reference. It’s one of the smallest markets they are playing. There are probably more people in Orlando than there are in Arkansas!

bjcrazycpa 01-19-2018 08:22 PM

The promoter will have Ticketmaster release tickets in dribs and drabs at all price points. What muddies it up is there are "resale" tickets that will show up now so be careful to avoid those but that's why you see the various price points for the same section. If you can see a seating chart the "pink" dots are the resale.

Becky 01-19-2018 08:40 PM

I keep getting messages from an app saying they have reserved “the best” tickets for me and when I look at the charts, those best seats suck compared to what I got in fan club presale.

Thierry 01-19-2018 09:21 PM

Very odd system is this common for tickets in the USA? I mean I’m in Chicago next week and I wonder if this is happening for NBA and NHL as well?

There's way too many resale tickets for the first day. Weird that there's gonna be people sitting next to you that will have paid up to $100 more to basically have the same vantage point.

Panda 01-19-2018 10:04 PM

It's not even the resale tickets I'm talking about. I see the red resale buttons. I know what they are.

A general admission, non resale ticket on the floor at MSG is going for $225. For a general admission, non resale ticket earlier, that is even closer on the floor, I paid $169. and I've seen every price point over the last few hours inbetween. What gives?

What floor section? I passed on the floor because I could only get sections way back.

Looks like the more range Jon loses vocally, he makes up for it with increased range price-wise. Ba dum tss.

F6. I was having that same problem and could only get F9 or F7 at the back. Then out of nowhere I hit refresh and a bunch were released.

Becky 01-20-2018 04:17 PM

There are so many different presale offers holding tickets that it’s messed up: fan club, Live Nation, arenas, American Express cardholders, Facebook.... That’s a lot of the best tickets divided up between a lot of options.

I settled for Section 116, row 7. I prefer to be up a little then too far back on the floor.

Maybe I should have held out for F6.

Yes and I also noticed when I looked at tickets for either Milwaukee or Chicago they were still offering Amer. Express card owners certain sections after presale. Also Chicago has a special Legend and RNRHOF packages in the middle of the arena for $500. Good seats but way too much compared to standard prices in the same area. I also wonder if they shouldn't take up so many rows for the usual vip packages. Milwaukee overall is selling well (they didn't have a show last year). Chicago with a show last year is not selling well. I've been studying the pick your own seat charts. I've also figured out that during presale the arena password I had was offering upper levels seats and lower level seats in the corners of the back only.

bj4ever 01-20-2018 07:33 PM

Ticket sales are very low across the board, except for MTL that is sold out, but they hadn't been there since the WAN tour.
Honestly, I'm not surprised. Most people will not pay over 100$ for nosebleed seats and I totally understand that. This is no way to attract new fans and the casuals who have seen them plenty won't be coming back either.

They definitely are shooting themselves in the foot with these prices.

CLEYoungGun21 01-20-2018 09:39 PM

I’ve been seeing a good amount of people on facebook saying that they went last year and thought it “sucked!” and that they won’t go this go around (I went to a show last year, still had a great time).

I’d still go again if they were coming to my city, but yeah, loss of vocal range and steep price do not go well together

Absolutely, the "cheap" seats should be just that. If you're gonna be charging through the nose for the decent seats at least make the nosebleeds affordable to attract people who would otherwise be on the fence. I'd go and see a band at £30/£40 for a punt in the high seats. Anything more than that and I'll pass.

MSG prices are absolutely ridiculous... They are 3 to 4 times more than last year...

Is that true!? If so that's ridiculous. Do they think they can hike up the price now that they are getting in to the Hall Of Fame!?

Mine were actually cheaper than last tour for nearly the same seats. For MSG 1, I'm Section C, Row 9 and all in it was $412.70. I paid over $450 for the same ticket last leg. My MSG #2 is Section D, Row 5 and all in is $215.80. The same ticket last tour was closer to $235. Maybe it's other sections you are referring to?

I'm just looking at Ticketmaster as a whole... The upper deck section which are usually $20 / $40 bucks are $125...

I can't get 2 seats together in Uncasville.

FTR, they just added a 2nd Montreal show due to popular demand.

I ended up with Section 27, Row S, which is very side stage but heck, the two together were $200 each so we were happy. This was in the general sale on Friday.

I might just stick with the Boston show. I'm not a fan of shows at Mohegan Sun. Plus Def Leppard is in Boston this summer, and I want to go to that.

Wait a minute - you were contemplating going to a Mohegan Sun show again? Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't you bitched about every show played there for the past decade, yet still, knowing there's always a 2 hour curfew, you still go?

Also RDkopper - I'm honored that my presence among 15,000 other people is enough to make you not go to a show. I'm still down for a beer or coffee though.

I got my tickets to see them in Newark on April 8th. I missed out on the leg last year, so I'm excited to be seeing them again! Hopefully they pull off a good show for their home state and with it being their last show before the HOF ceremony. I'll probably go to DC as well, unless the shows are really bad. I hope the shows go better than the ones last year, but I'm not putting my expectations too high.

Nosebleed in Raleigh are $26... of course Ticketmaster will almost double it with the fees and then parking starts at $20. Still a lot of those seats open. Still quite a few stage rear. Seems the more expensive seats are selling better than the lower end - Charlotte looked the same except it doesn't look like stage rear may even be open. This is the first stops in NC since 2013.

Panda 02-26-2018 08:09 PM

Okay so I know now that I'm not going crazy. Ticket prices for MSG just took a dramatic price hike -

Upper bowls for night 2 MSG that were $99 on first day of sales are now $150 (these are NOT resales) and lower bowl + floors which were $170 on opening day are now $258 + fees. Is this allowed/normal?

Just compare the price differences between night 1 and night 2 of MSG. it's weird.

Newark night one is only half full, but then again, at 522$+fees that TM is selling them for most of the arena, I'm not really surprised.

Wow. They are selling tickets in the 5th row for $16 for that show (if you have an offer code as a Little Rock Air Force Base servicemember). Very cool thing to do for the military, but it's not often you see them practically give away the best seats in the house. I don't think they'll cancel it, but they will take a loss and the place will be at least half empty.

I am close enough to go to Little Rock, but the scheduling doesn’t work well for school district employees. I get two personal days a year and I am using them for other shows.

Wow, what a fantastic code to have!

If you know of a general public code fir Little Rock are you able to post it? Is that allowed here?

I don’t have any tickets yet, but I have a hotel reserved for Charlotte. I’m waiting for the stupid packages to break up and platinum tickets to drop to something affordable.
