Jon's voice isn't always the first thing to look at though, is it now? Look at the energy in that performance. That's Jon when he really wants to be there! That's the sort of performance Bon Jovi fans long for every tour. Don't tell me if they'd put that sort of passion into Prayer on the Have A Nice Day tour you'd have said it was painful to watch. Prayer at Hull was painful to watch; this MTV performance is like a dream.

No, Jon's voice isn't always what makes a great performance. However, IMO for a band to be in their "top form" the lead singers voice has to be in better shape than that and they can't be struggling to get sound out. Yes, the passion is there and he definitely gets an A+ for effort. That said, I would rather see this kind of performance than a Hull one though.

If it's from an award show, it's Deana Carroll. I haven't watched the youtube, but remember them doing something with Brian May and Deana Carroll around 1994.

Tokyo Road live from Philadelphia in 1989. Not the best quality but fun all the same! :)

Also, there are many other BJ live clips from this person called MudR0ck to be enjoyed.

Thanks, I think you're right.

BTW, who is she ? Was she famous in "anyway" ?

I have no idea. That was from the BRIT Awards. She wasn't famous in the USA.

Bang a Drum: a duet with some guy (a country-star?) called Chris Le Doux.

What an awesome performance. One of the best JBJ's I have ever seen

Jon put more effort into that version of LOAP with Nettles than any I have heard for a long time...like he didn't want to be shown up by her vocals

I remember this award show. Every performer had really cool stages and put up really cool shows, Bon Jovi just had... a lot of people on stage! I never really understood that. They won an award for best video though.
I also remember it 'cause Anthony Kiedies sung amazingly bad! He was out of tune during the entire Otherside. I donīt know what happended there, it was like the worst thing Iīve ever heard.
