Last show had Jon made an impromptu exit where he was visibly emotional at the end of I'll Be There For You. Other than that, the setlists seem to have stagnated for the most parts, so I'd be highly surprised if another song premiered in the last four concerts on this leg. Last time the band played in Austin was on April 10th 2013: https://bjtours.jimdofree.com/the-to...tin-texas-usa/ Setlist: 01. That's what the Water made me 02. You give Love a bad Name 03. Livin on a Prayer 25. I love this Town 26. Twist and Shout |
We've been critical of the set list, and rightly so, but that one listed above isn't that much better, in my opinion.

Agreed. There was just too much middle-of-the-road country/pop stuff in there at the time that neither casuals nor diehards cared about.
I'd even go as far as argueing that the Bounce tour was the last time they had setlist that were consistently quite well-paced. HAND had the lull of the three TLFR-styled ballads, but at least they were mostly restricted to US arenas. The 2008-11 era had a lot of rarities that outweighed a lot of the other stuff and make us forget that a lot of US shows still had LH, WLOL, Who Says, ILTT, Captain Crash, WGIGO etc. in them. |
I'll be there tonight.. I don't expect much different but am hopeful for one tour debut.. just one surprise would be awesome. Maybe Blood In the Water.

I have arrived in Texas and am looking forward to the show. I wish they’d bring back the acoustic set

I did but probably my last show to go to. JBJ has blown a gasket.. not sure it can be repaired.

Just heard IBTFY and HAND with band turned down and Jon’s vocals turned up….yikes.

12. American Reckoning
13. Whole Lotta Leavin 14. Do What You Can This part is horrible. American Reckoning is a crowd snoozer, WLL has been overplayed tour after tour and DWYC sucks. Why couldn't it be? 12. I'd Die For You - Acoustic 13. Superman Tonight - Acoustic 14. Wanted Dead or Alive - Acoustic Then replace Wanted in the encore with something different each night.. Next 100 Years, Last Man Standing, The Distance, Love's The Only Rule etc... |
Well, I think this is an honest opinion. On touring withdrawal, I think most of us would agree, except if it means we won't be able to get new music in the future. Could Jon make a new album and not tour? I know that some artists have done it that way, but in the case of Bon Jovi I'm not sure if this happens, since the tour and the album always came together. Another thing, I have friends who are crazy to see Guns N Roses again, they already saw it 4 years ago, they know Axl's problems and they don't care. They simply wants to revive the party, as if it were a Rolling Stones show, since they are a kind of extinct dinosaur. And I wonder, any chance that Jon can do this kind of stadium tours next year? I know it's going to be horrible, but Guns N Roses is doing and with successfully. Axl barely has a voice and when he sings he has this horrible Mickey Mouse tone. Of course I wouldn't go see them, it doesn't work with me just like I'm not watching Guns N Roses either, it's just a thought. Whatever happens, I hope Jon finds a way to keep making albums, they don't have to be Bon Jovi. Jon might come back to do a solo album, and do some live performances. I think that path would be ideal for me, ending Bon Jovi in 2023-24?. Then go back to making solo albums (maybe with restricted live performances)... like when Bruce Springsteen releases more intimate albums. I am intrigued by what will happen after April. I hope Jon doesn't announce a serious illness like the case of Bruce Willis or something. |
Why not play I will drive you home?
That must be easier than most Jovi songs to sing. Sent from my SM-S906B using Tapatalk |

Really.. something we don't know is going on with Jon. While watching some videos I have a feeling that his voice is still there, but he just don't know how to pull it out anymore. |

I for the most part enjoyed the show.
The venue is brand new and the seats are very comfy. The set list needed changing, to many songs that make it easier to sit down in the comfy seats. When in Europe I always stand in the gold circle so it takes me time to understand that some people just want to sit, watch, singalong and relax without getting sore feet. Jon’s voice is gone for now, it’s not always noticeable. The band is very solid and at times the energy was class but the set list let it down( 4 changes would improve it greatly for me) He had a meltdown with the harmonica at one stage and threw it away like a Diva but I enjoyed his playing. 23 songs and was about 2hrs 15 minutes |
