Pale imitation of This Ain't A LOve Song IMO. I don't hate it enough to skip it every time it comes on, but I wouldn't miss it if it was to miraculously evaporate.

I wasn't aware of the pre-release lyrics, were they radically different?

i didnt knew about it =/

Not sure of the exact lyrics of the pre-release but the first verse has a girl running away from home ("Couldn't stay one more day in a house where innocence was stolen away"), juxtaposed with a guy leaving home for different reasons ("He left home off to war / Don't know why or what for").

Second verse is similar to the first verse of the final release. No church fields and dirt in the pre-release version.;)

But to me the pre-release actually had a point to it and was therefore a better song.

Preferred the lyrics in the prerelease, but I've always really dug the vocal in this, and the melody - even if it is a rip of TAALS (personally, I don't hear it) - is prettyful. Yus, PRETTYFUL.

Then again (since Sami brought it up), I've never heard the IF YOU WERE A WOMAN > BAD NAME thing either, so... but... anyway... I like it.

Watching a live performance of it now, and I still think it's brilliant! :D
