Who Do You Think Got Worse Vocals- Jon or Axl?
Seems like the two are getting criticized by a lot of their hardcore fans for their current voice. Many says Jon's voice is gone/nasal/weak, while Axl got this Mickey Mouse voice.
In your opinion, who sounds more horrible? |
Jon by a long shot... Axl at least has power and a rasp. Jon's vocals are thin and raw.

Wow. The positive atmosphere here lives on.
Axl hasn’t been touring for 35 years. I’m not voting. I didn’t get a chance to see GnR live. I can’t make an honest comparison. |
I agree with Becky -- any advantage Axl has would be due to having been on a longer hiatus.

Jon by far. He can't even sing a complete line on pretty much any song anymore without either a) running out of breath, b) falling flat, c) cracking or d) all of them. Compared to him, Axl still sounds amazing and, most importantly, can still sing in tune - the insanely high notes included.

Axl has a few rough shows every now and then but overall I think he sounds great. I saw Guns n Roses in 2017 and was blown away how great Axl sounded on that tour - with every show almost running for 30 songs a night and those are seriously tough songs to sing.
And even though it breaks my heart to admit it - Jon simply can't sing anymore. It's been since the summer of 2013 since he sounded somewhat decent and hope of him ever sounding okay again is pretty much gone for me. |

Such non-sense. He's done WAY more touring than Jon has in this decade. The only extended break (more than 2 years) from touring he took was 1994-2000. To answer the question, there's no comparison. Neither is close to his prime, but Axl can still give a great perormance and Jon, obviously, can't. The frustrating thing about Axl is that he picks his spots. He always sang with a screechy head voice, which he still can use, but I guess it's much more demanding for him than it used to be. During his own shows (GNR) he holds it back and uses his clean "mickey" falsetto (e.g. SCOM, NR) which doesn't sound good on YouTube (it sounds actually much better when you're live), but when he pulls out his old voice (which is usually 4-5 songs per show with GNR and the whole AC/DC show), it's still magical; examples: |
