The official Allentown, PA 05/02/18 THREAD

Anybody going to the show tonight?

Unfortunately, I predict a 100% standard setlist with just Wanted and Prayer as an encore. Philly will get the goodies again.

Have they ever played Allentown before? Such an odd choice in my opinion for a stop on the tour.

I don't think so. It's an odd choice, indeed - had they done a show in Pittsburgh to make up for the disaster of last year, that I would've understood, but Allentown? Strange. Maybe the PPG Arena was fully booked already and they just decided to do another Pennsylvania date on the place of what was originally supposed to be the Pittsburgh show?

Yes, it could be the pseudo make up for Pittsburgh but it is only about 90 miles north of Philly vs 250+ miles from Pittsburgh. Guess we will never know. :)

The Pittsburgh Penguins are in the middle of playoff series right now, that's likely why they didn't schedule at the PPG Paints Arena this week

Oh yes, that would make sense.

Thats not how it works. Every hockey arena tentatively books or has room for playoff spots for hockey. This tour was booked before any NHL team knew if they would be in the playoffs or not, let alone the second round at that.

According to setlist.fm, the last time they played in Allentown was on June 16 1984, as the opening act for Scorpions. Here is what they played:

01. Breakout
02. Come Back
03. Roulette
04. Shot Through the Heart
05. Get Ready
06. Runaway

If they really wanted to do a make-up show for Pittsburgh they could've done Harrisburg or State College, both of which are much closer than Allentown.
