Interesting that it's Prayer (Wembley 1995) -_-

Am I a super tasteless weirdo for actually really liking both Knockout and Limitless? Both songs are on a frequent playlist!!

No 🤣

I do like Limitless. The bass surprised me.

The problem with Knockout and Limitless probably is that it's just a copy of We Don't Run. Taking the same direction doesn't mean copying everything.
And like I said before, I'm not a big fan of We Don't Run either. But I acknowledge that they tried something different, that they tried to freshen up (is that expression correct?) their sound.
But what I've heard so far from 2020 (bar Limitless) it's the same old formula we're getting for 2 decades.

There is one major reason WDR doesn't fall flat on its face like Knockout and Limitless, despite repeated claims in this thread that it has exactly the same amount of guitar (seriously?!) - it has a ****ing solo. It doesn't get killed by Jon warbling over shitty synth or a build up that never pays off. Also it's not full of horrible boxing metaphors and it's not quite as saccharine as Limitless.

Pardon my French.

Sure but I was never talking about lyrical content or solos, the discussion was more about stylistically (production mostly). WDR trumps Knockout hard every which way you look at it in those regards but you're cherry picking arguments if you bring up things like the boxing element.

WDR has a solo but amount of guitars, it's pretty muddy. Mostly muted power chords, bigger ones in the chorus but it's a lot over overdubbed, stacked on each other notes.

I'm having nightmares with this phrase: " If you can't do what you do, you do what you can." >_<

I have no idea if I have ever even seen that sitcom, but.. you f**king nailed it. 90's sitcom tune is what this whole song is.

4/10 and one point reduction for no Phil X so: 3/10 on Bon Jovi scale. On general scale it still scores a solid 8.

I know I'm a broken record on the subject but both the credits and Phil say he played on it, why is that still coming up?

It's a 3.

BJ current status (vocally and in general) is atrocious and it shows. What bothers me is that the song, like many others nowadays are too infused with american stuff that I just can't relate.

Is it catchy? Sure, but I don't need catchy, I need awe inspiring music.
