Skid Row
Does anyone here collect Sebastian Bach era Skid Row? I think I have almost everything, but I’m missing 3 live b-sides from singles from the first album. They are Sweet Little Sister, Rattlesnake Shake and I Remember You.
They didn’t have any soundtrack or compilation songs that I know of besides Holidays In The Sun. |
Skid Row
Love skid row seb era.
You tried Discogs? Far as I know you’re correct Holidays in the Sun is only song they covered for compilations (bside ourselves excluded). Love these tracks as well https://youtu.be/VFaPHebvJLY |
The first album has just been released as a Digital only 30th Anniveray edition. It includes the complete show that these tracks were taken from (The Marquee, CA, 1989)

I was working at their gig at the O2 Forum, Kentish Town (London). Was fortunate to be in a position where I got to see the whole show. Gotta say, I quite enjoyed what I saw.

Was this the Gig on Sat?
My mate went. For a band that want to leave the Seb years behind they played only 1 song from after he left! My mate enjoyed it but Id never go and see them without Seb - Saw them in 91 x 2 (Wembley with GNR and Docklands) and 95 x 2 (Astoria and Brixton) and they were awesome. Met them in 95 at Virgin Megastore signing session just before Astoria gig- Seb weren't there - apparently he got stuck in the tour bus after the doors jammed shut. Made them late on stage the same evening by about 2 hours - they had to get electrician out to sort the coach doors out! |

To be fair, I think they should be respected for sticking to their guns. It would be easy for them to cash in and do a money grab tour with Seb, but they never have. We know Seb would jump at the chance! |
SKID ROW Parts Ways With Singer ZP THEART, Replaces Him With Ex-H.E.A.T. Frontman ERIK GRÖNWALL

Kind of makes it come full circle since Erik started his career by singing 18 & Life at the audition for Swedish Idol [emoji1]

Not too bad.
The original 3 members have always said they’ll never get back with Seb as he’s a problem……many singers later I think we know where the problems may well lay! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I wish Erik the best, he's fantastic, so this time there's a bit of expectation in it from my side. But... Sebastian is the man.
I also have to say something about Subhuman Race, I really like that album man, the only thing wrong with that record is the final mix, since it lacks some edge, but it's easy to fix. |
Had seen Erik live with H.E.A.T. and that guy is a great front man (though he was drinking excessively on stage that night) and vocally, he's every bit as good live as he's in the studio. So in terms of pure quality, that's a great addition to Skid Row.

Agree subhuman race is a beast of an album. Saw them on that tour twice and they were still a great live band. When we saw them once the band didn’t come on until really late plus he had missed the album signing we were at well earlier and everyone was wondering why. The talk was Seb was unwell but what really happened was he kept getting off and on the tour bus and the doors failed so he was locked in and they couldn’t find anyone to get him out! The new singer thing is really odd as Sabo gave an interview just a few days prior and he didn’t mention a new singer and then a new single is released with new guy on. Everyone kept that quiet. The strange thing about hiring Erik is that he met with the band on Tuesday for the first time! As per his social media.
I know, the world learnt to work remotely but that's kinda strange to me. Def Leppard recorded their last album separately, so I guess providing vocals for the new album wasn't a problem for Erik. Still, a band needs to have some kind of dynamic, chemistry etc, you don't have that on Zoom. |

Having had this album for 2 weeks now before its release, its an absolute Monster of an album. If you like " Gangs all here , Tear it down, Timebomb ", your going to love this record !
"Come hell or highwater" will make a great show opener, kind of a cross between monkey business and living on a chain gang Octobers song, has " in a darkened room " vibe, 7 mins long , absolutely epic ! Not dead yet... a throwback to their punkier sound When the lights come on- could of been off the debut album, real rock n roll / bluesy feel to it . Do yourself a favour and if you only buy one record this year, buy this , its that good ...10/10 for me, not one duffer on it....Its up there, it really is |
Ok so heard this now….
Hell or Highwater 9/10 – this could’ve easily been on Slave or Subhuman Race. Great opener. Hopefully the rest are as good……….. Gangs all here 9/10 – Great comeback single. Skid Row do indeed feel like a gang again – great to hear Tricky Little Vikki remembered. Not Dead yet 8/10 – Fast and furious rock song. You don’t throw mud on an open casket! Time Bomb 9/10 - Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick boom! The verses, Bass and guitar are superb. Can hear prime Seb singing this (as with most of these songs). Resurrected 8/10 - heard people say this should be the title of the album. I agree. Not the best song on the album but still a good rocker. Nowhere Fast 9/10 - love this one. Great chorus. Just classic Skid Row. When the Lights come on 9/10 – this track again is just Skid Row being classic Skid Row. Tear it down 9/10 - wasn’t keen on this one when I first heard the single but it sounds great on the album. The chorus is so catchy. October song 9/10 – want a 7 minute ballad? Oh go on then. This could’ve been on Subhuman Race which is no bad thing as has a darker theme and sound. Worlds on Fire 8/10 – good album closer – its not Midnight Tornado or Wasted Time but it’s a great chugging track that leaves you wanting a follow up album…..fast! Final score 9.5/10 I think a lot of these songs have been written as if prime Seb was in the band as they now have a vocalist who can pull these vocals off. They are all high octane rock songs with the token ballad. If you loved prime Skid Row you’ll love this. Roll on the UK tour and physical release. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
unbelievable that they can deliver such a great album being in their 50's
