What About Burning Bridges?
 

Hi,

I was listening to What About Now and Burning Bridges recently and thought if both were mashed together could we have a decent album? guessing We Don't Run, Fingerprints and All Fall Down are better than some of the cuts that made What About Now....

Can you have a stab at a best album from both? sticking to a maximun of 14 songs.

I like the title 'What About Burning Bridges'

For some reason What About Now is becoming one of my favorites... Or let's just say it's not as terrible and very enjoyable...

Take off Amen - replace it with Burn With Me

I'm not crazy about The Fighter, Thick As Thieves, and Army Of One but I do like the 2 Bonus tracks, With These Two Hands and Into The Echo so swap those out with main tracks and the album gets even better...

That's how I arranged it and listen to it.

Burning Bridges is fine as is. It's still one of my favorite post 2000 albums. There is not one song I would replace.

If I had to pick one, I'd take off I'm Your Man and swap it with I'm With You.

With the exception of These Days, New Jersey, and Slippery, every album has fillers . Even KTF has a few. It doesn't mean they are not good by any means but they are not A+ like the others.

Even an album like HAND has Wildflower when they have bonus tracks wasted like Dirty Little Secret.

Recently listened to WAN and absolutely hated it. Even more than upon its release.
BB has a few good ones, but a few dropouts as well.

it's the first Jovi album that I really really struggle with...

The Circle works to a point, sone weak tracks but overall it's ok, WAN and everything since is a bit of a chore.

I really like WAN when you take out Amen, the fighter, not running, army of one and old habits then add into the echo and burn with me. It my fav album since Bounce.

Is there a decent version of burn with me out there?

I'm with you (no pun).. Song for song, it's not terrible. There are definitely a few bad songs that really drag the album down which are basically the ones you listed give or take a one or two more but overall, I enjoy it... Especially live... Jon still had somewhat of a voice back then and the live versions remove Shank's production.

As much as I can't stand Amen, I think it actually could have be a decent song if Jon sang it in the 90s. That's a vocally driven song and his Ameeeeen ruin it. And then the verses are just bland but if you put a younger JBJ voice on it, I think the potential is there... But then again, you can say this about any song today.

I have a good version but it’s more a demo with Jbj totally auto tuned.
