You guys are way overreacting to this. It's an unauthorized bio, nothing more. They've come out about every band under the sun, and they'll continue to do so. The world isn't going to end, and things aren't going to "get bad."

Clearly. |
Those who are worried really need to get out more.
If the band were that worried they would get an legal injunction out against it. |
The band dabbled in sex and drugs? Wow, front page news!

I don't think this is going to cause many ripples.
It obviously isn't being released by a recognised publisher as they are only selling it independently. It certainly isn't showing on any of the well knwn websites like Play or Amazon. |

First post! Been lurking for ages. So refreshing to be able to say what you think.
Personally I think the main issue will be personal embarrassment for Jon, and him dreading his family/political/charity friends and associates etc seeing them. Especially the older children. But the photos were taken 25 odd years ago. I reckon he should be able to just laugh them off. How many of us did things in our twenties that we would rather stayed hidden from our present partners/colleagues etc. I know I have LOL. But then I'm not a celebrity and it's not of any interest to anyone! The band wouldn't have been thinking about these getting out 25 odd years later. I doubt if they will do the band any harm. Jon just needs to keep his cool over something that is old news really anyway, and let his publicity machine deal with the press etc. I guess there could be a danger of some additional "kiss n tell" stuff coming out. I don't know how they have managed to keep all their "secrets" so firmly in the circle all these years. But then I don't remember anything much following on from the revelations in the former body guards book "Starman". Don't remember the Zuccuni twins ever coming forward to cash in LOL. They have probably already been well paid off anyway! |

I don't think this'll change anything. Bon Jovi will still be known as that 'guy who sings Livin' On A Prayer'. Nobody'll be bothered.

Ew! Gross! Ahhh my eyes got decayed.......but good to know that the former tour manager admitted those photos were set-up and taken in the band's 2nd album era, So, those disgraceful photos were not taken in the band's private photos and they were single then.
As far as Jon's wife, she is cool about Rock star life as Jon already said in April 2008 and he never lie to her (i.e, tell her if he slept with a woman), which is gross to me but that's their business and they are fine with that. What is problem is about their children. Even though those photos were set-up, those are visually shocking to see. I don't know how Jon and his wife are going to keep preventing their children from those photos. :( ************************************************** *********** They were taken by famed photographer Ross Marino in 1985 when Jon was just 22, busy promoting second album 7800°Fahrenheit. It wasn't until the release of Bon Jovi's third album, Slippery When Wet that the band shot to superstardom. The never-published pictures were kept locked away for more than 20 years by the band's former tour manager, Rich Bozzett, who has included them in his new book charting his time with the band. He told Mail Online he tracked them down years after they were taken at the request of Bon Jovi, who asked him to destroy them after remembering their existence following his rise to fame. But Bozzett kept them along with other memorabilia from his seven years with the band. He said he had great memories of travelling the world with the unknown band during their rise to fame - and particularly of Jon Bon Jovi. 'He treated me very well, I felt he was a nice person, and very genuine.' He said he remembers the photoshoot well - and that Bon Jovi enjoyed it. 'Back at that time, you're a young man, you're going to enjoy something like that,' he said. But he said that the shoot was a set-up, with Bon Jovi already dating the woman who would become his wife, his teenage sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, the mother of his four children. 'We were trying to toughen up the image,' he explained, saying the huge record sales of bands like Motley Crue inspired the idea. |

Hmmm. So this included VIP packages in 1985?? It was special offert only for woman?? What was included in VIP packages for man?? Do we get "Gays, drugs and Bon Jovi part2 ??"... Interesting... I'm just kidding ;] But I'm litte worry about photos with M.JAckson. We all know that he liked boys and in 1985 Jon was quite pretty boy... and Richie to  |

Their children know the marriage of Jon and Dorothea. Saying this is shocking for their children pretty much means that you either wouldn't or didn't educate your children well enough about true love or joking about true love. Quote:

I don't know if they educated their children well enough about true love but I'm sure they are trying. I think "live before you die" is such song for their children. Those disgusting photos of their father have been unofficially published now and if they made fun of them with those photos,,,,,,,,,,I just hope they are strong enough like their mother. |

Since it's staged, it's not much different from an actor/actress doing a scene in a movie. When the guy providing the pictures tells you they were done to toughen up the image, it just becomes a bad professional decision.
|
This is a non story.
Rock band has sex and takes drugs? I expect that. I'd be more shocked if you told me they went backstage and drank tea and ate Hummus. Motley Crue made sure the bar was set sky high for Rock Star behaviour and they haven't been beaten since. |
this whole book has evoked a complete over reaction from some fans. the pictures are hardly shocking, if anything they're simply amusing. this will have next to no effect on the band's image/credibility etc. it'll all be forgotten withing weeks.

This whole thing is just laughable. Do I think they were angels? No. Do I think they were Satan come to life? No to that, too. I think they probably enjoyed the benefits of being rock stars, but they were all smart and/or lucky enough to make it through without too much damage. |

Man, backstage down today or something?! |

I'm still curious to read it, but I'm not paying $25 for it. I would swing by Borders or Barnes Noble and sit down a flip through it, but I doubt it will ever see the light of day in an actual store. |

There's nothing disgusting about these photos, it's just a bunch of naked women and I'm sure these kids have seen naked women themselves. We're not all idiots who think porn is evil and that you should only be naked under the shower or unless you're making babies, you know. Good looking naked women rock, and Jon got plenty of them. If there's one thing his sons will be it's jealous once they reach puberty. They certainly won't be upset, sad or confused about Jon's love for Dorothea. The reason why these pictures get published is because you create such a stigma around them. It's people like you that cause the stir, because it's people like you who don't get it. I hate seeing someone come visit America, and then leave lumping us all together with the likes of someone like AMYHARKET! America is a big country, perhaps if you visit again you will get to see more of the other half of us. We are here, maybe we just need to start being louder, so visitors can find us, instead of the idiots. On to the book and pics. Not shocking, not disgusting, still goes on today in America. Any American who is screaming that it is, obviously has blinders on, or has never stepped foot on a college campus. Must not watch TV, read the newspaper or have internet, must not have kids or must choose to pretend their kids don't do bad things. |

I guess it was because bands like Motley Crue had a sleazey reputation and were considered tough guys and they were trying to compete in that market. It's actually kind of funny that this guy is trying to cause so much controversy and in the next breath says Jon was "basically squeaky clean." Way to CYA, dude. |
I dont get this guy. Really..
So, anyone here has the book already? :D |

This book is being so overblown by the fanbase it's ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with the pictures.
I also don't get all the backlash the author is getting from fans. Richie Bozzett can write whatever he wants, he owes Bon Jovi nothing. If he wants to cash in, let him, it's freedom of speech. If you don't agree with what he's doing, just don't buy the book but bitching about him or the book won't change a thing. It's already released. The kids argument is ridiculous too. It has probably had little or no effect on Jon's kids or any of their kids for that matter. Richie probably put his daughter through more by getting arrested a few years ago than this book will ever be capable of doing. |
So did anyone actually read this? Come on, I wanna know if Jon put a hit out on that photographer or not.
|
Yea! And the pics! Pls...tell us whats in there XDD
|
Can't find it in stores yet, I assume it ain't been released yet.
