Just listened to a podcast with Desmond Child and he was talking about Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper (who he has both wrote songs for ) and the song House of Fire.

He said he co-wrote that with Joan Jett but she didn’t think it suited her.
He offered it to Bon Jovi who recorded it but didn’t think it was them - which he (and I ) was really surprised at as chorus is a proper stadium chorus.

He offered it to Alice who recorded it and put it on Trash album.

He said he was surprised to see it on New Jersey 30th Anniversary edition as a song that was left off as far as he was concerned it was never going on New Jersey as they didn’t like it even if a double album

Fun thing about chord structure. Listen to the choruses of

Rich Man Living In A Poor Mans House
Love Ain't Nothing But A Four Letter Word
God Bless This Mess

back to back. Eerie!

So different yet, God bless is a meh song... I like the Shanks live outro though; but of course never at Richie level, I get it! lol

Bon Jovi is a BAND, guys. Why do people think it's just Jon Bon Jovi? Oh wait.

I listened to it first time right now, the chorus of Welcome To Wherever You Are reminds me of the chorus in Last Christmas.

Was it the Milton Keynes shows at the end of the HAND tour, where they band learned that Richie's dad had cancer? I Remeber watching some videos from that show where they just seemed so grim and were on autopilot.

That was Hull, the last UK show of the tour.
