I'm getting a bit pissed off of hearing about Jon's vision for the band. That's CEO talk for Christ sake.
Jon also has to lose the notion that he's some sort of social commentator. He's not and he doesn't have the lyrical brilliance to pull it off or add anything to the discussion. Jon built his career, and rebuilt it, more than once by writing about emotions people could relate to and putting kick ass tunes behind that. He may point to LOAP. Did anyone fall in love with that song because of what it said about Regan's America or did you fall in love with it because we all know what it's like to struggle in life and the chorus was insanely brilliant. I'll give him a few songs in the 90s like KTF, DC and Hey God but even then Always, Bed of Roses and TAALS were bigger hits. It's my Life was another song people could relate to without tying it to politics. Their best work post 2000 were songs in the vein that made them successful (MAM, WLOL, LWTG). Nobody gives two shits what Bon Jovi thinks about Trump, America or politics. We care about songs that touch our lives and that we can relate to emotionally. What he's producing now is pure shite. |

Jon isn't a political song writer. Leave that to Springsteen or Dylan.
He may think he is but he isn't and I dont want him to be. Just stick to making stadium anthems. What even is the message of limitless? Cleaning your teeth and grabbing your shoes means life is limitless? Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |
Bon Jovi saying no to politics? Then wondering why the comment section is turned off lol |

I also want to add that it also comes down to Jon's voice. He knows he can't deliver anything of passion that requires a strong vocal so he purposely continues with these big anthem type pop songs (if that's what you even call them). I think he's scared of his classic hits during live performances and doesn't want to even try to create another one in a studio. I would love nothing more than for Jon to take his time on one last masterpiece. Even if it took him months to record it. I really do believe that most songs are handed to him 90% complete and he just adds/changes lyrics... There might be a couple he writes himself, but the remaining bulk are just handed over by Shanks or Falcon. Teardrop To The Sea is a great example of that. That was Billy Falcon song and Jon sang it as is to fulfil Burning Bridges requirements. And probably the reason why he has avoided it ever since. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk |
I think the message is to do whatever you want, go off the routine, blablabla.
P.S. Don't mess with my boy Rdkopper, just saying... (I also like Donald Trump) |

Also the economy may be flourishing (though I have no idea about that and too little time to read up on it), but maybe that's inspite of Trump and not because of him, ever thought about that? |
