Bon Jovi Bootleg Sites

Do they exist anymore? It's been a while (years) since I actually wanted to acquire anything but I still like to look around just incase. I was searching for the Dublin 10-31-88 show & I don't see anything out there updated since '09.

Are there any good sites or blogs?

Most of the traders retired in recent years due to the band going more and more downhill. The show you're talking about exists, but is about the crappiest sounding one I ever listened to.

Not sure about sites and blogs but I never found any recordings of that show in all my years of collecting.....

It's out there, but like bonjovi90 says, it's not one of the most satisfying listens out there. Really not worth it unless you want a recording of everything out there.

If you can't find anything after '09 you haven't been looking in the right places though. Plenty of shows from 2010, 2011 and 2013 have been shared. I've been wanting to start up a new board but, erm, I'm under investigation and I'd pretty much screw everyone over would they sign up so...no. :p

I've found shows after '09 but most of the sites I used to visit haven't been maintained. This site needs an update with their lists and even your database cuts off after DA. I just can't find one good updated Bon Jovi site out there. Mainly for boots but on anything in general.

Anything I'd be interested in would be from the 80s and 90s anyway but I'd still like something current. I downloaded a show from '05 the other day, took one listen, and just deleted it. The quality was good, Jon sounded decent, but it had that same staged predictability which goes on today. I can't stand it.

I'm looking for the Dublin show for collecting reasons, not so much for quality. I know I'll find it eventually, its just a matter of when. You could be a pal

Who the heck knows when it comes to him....

But I do want to thank the one DC member who fulfilled my Dublin show request. There are some good people here on this board. Thanks Again!

Seb,
I was actually using your archived database as a check list and we concluded that the 8-9-87 Uniondale NY show set-list might have been from 8-10-87. Not sure if you even care but if you want to confirm and make the update, that's our conclusion.

And Bon Jovi actually covered Who Do You Love? I never knew that either. Is that accurate?

I've actually once told you this story briefly on Skype. Long story short;

While I still had the File Sharing Forum I received several phonecalls from a Dutch copyright organisation asking me to shut down the site. I refused and I got into a small discussion about this and how ethical it is and how while the artist doesn't care for bootleg recordings, a record company does, and an artist can't just go encouraging etc. The guy had no idea what bootlegs really were, yet kept hammering on how illegal they were and how much they harmed the industry. It really showed how ****ed up the industry is regarding this "issue" that isn't really an issue.

After I'd given up the site completely I've been contacted again as they thought I was still running the place. Being fully aware who was doing so I told them it wasn't me. They asked for a name, I refused to give it to them because doing so, I said, would mean the end of the community. They've asked me for names of big traders two or three times now, I've never given it to them. "But we will get you to court". "Yeah sure, you drag me to court for spreading Bon Jovi recordings!" was my reply, and that's been the end of it.

They did know details I posted on this board though, so I'm not exactly sure if starting up a new place is a good idea. And with Bon Jovi being dead right now I doubt anyone even remotely cares for such a place anyway.

I remember putting that show under August 9 for a reason, can't remember why though. You might be right. As for Who Do You Love having been played; no idea, I rarely listen to any bootleg from before 1990.

I've been a Bon Jovi fan for quite some time, and I have all the albums and B-sides, but I don't have any bootlegged shows. I want to start collecting them now, where exactly do I start? What shows are out there and where can I find them?

Hey Trevrox,
Dry County is a community, not a bootleg site so you are not going to find anything here.

The more you participate within discussions, the more info people will be willing to give. When I see new a member who joins just to ask for something, I'm a little reluctant to quickly hand over info. Or if I post that I have something specific and I receive PMs from members who have never posted here before, same thing.

But to answer your question:
There really aren't too many places anymore that give away Bon Jovi shows. I would just start with YouTube. Find yourself a good MP3 ripper and go from there. There are a bunch of great shows on there to start. That should keep you busy for a while.
