I don't meet bands. I am shy. (the last word is code for .... guess it?)

it only makes you a groupie if you wait in front of their hotel :p

if you, however, have friends that can get you backstage passes & free tickets, it doesn't qualify as a groupie action :D

p.s. i just met Good Charlotte last night. Bad music, arrogant people :-/

i was hanging around backstage at a festival a few years ago waiting for damien rice to come on when i saw a dude setting up teenage fanclubs gear. i'd been told guitar george dire straits sang about was their roadie so i went over and asked him.

turns out it was and the next thing i asked was if he knew all the chords :-S

it dawned on me how often he must get asked that and i apologised promptly.

That would be Jesse Malin. In quite the most embarrassing situation of my life..... sigh....

(actually it wasn't THE most embarrassing - that claim to fame goes to my night at a dinner table with Rainhard Fendrich and two of my most insane and drunk friends pulling off a show it made me want to crawl into a hole in the wall....)
