Don't think they get it though and wonder that they sold so many copies of their last album that it was enough for a nomination.

It performed well compared to the rest of the albums.

Depeche Mode - Delta Machine (3x Gold - 300,000)
OneRepublic - Native (Gold - 100,000)
Sunrise Avenue - Unholy Ground (Gold - 100,000)

I guess Sunrise Avenue will make it. Their singer was in German Idol or something like this as a judge and this created quite a hype here in Germany.
