Okay, let me see....
12 pts go to Slippery When Wet 11 pts would be Keep The Faith 10 pts These Days 9 pts New Jersey 8 pts Bounce 7 pts Have a Nice Day 6 pts Crush 5 pts The Circle 4 pts 7800 Fahrenheit 3 pts Bon Jovi 2 pts What About Now 1 pt Lost Highway A couple of notes: 1. The first two spots (SWW and KTF) are very much interchangeable, yet SWW has no fillers I can think of and KTF has that Woman in Love. And yes, I dig both Social Disease and Without Love and think they are excellent tracks. 2. Fahrenheit vs Bon Jovi is a tough comparison as it's hard to point out which is better. These were the last albums to add to my collection because they were nowhere to be found in my country in the late 90s so I was much more excited upon getting them than any other album. 3. The reasons why I hate Lost Highway are: a/ the title track because Jon has been shoving it down our throats for the last 3 tours b/ we got it going on for the same reason c/ i love this town - because this is (in my not so humble opinion) the absolute worst tune in their whole discography |
So what's the end result with this? Is there a tally?
BTW, I just listened to TC in its entirety and it really is their best effort since TD. Once you get through some of you shit like Born To Follow or Working Man, the album is quite enjoyable. Jon's studio vocals sound great and I don't mind the production at all. Shanks did a really good job. This is one of those albums I look back on. After Lost Highway, my expectations were much higher and when Born To Follow was the first single, I remember being disappointed. But now looking back at all the post 2K albums as a whole, TC wins for me. Take IML away, Crush and Bounce do nothing for me as whole albums. I don't like Luke E's production (Even on Aftermath)... LH was ok but that's not Bon Jovi. Although Memory is brilliant and a couple other decent ones... Every song on HAND sounds the same to me. It's like a 45 minute medley... |

If I'm too late that's fine - alone and bored in a hotel room.

It's funny how some albums seem so horrible because of a few really crap songs. Bounce and Crush are perfect examples for me. They both have some killer tracks, but have so much damn boring filler, they rank low for me.
