Secret Dreams

Such an awesone classic Jovi song!

I wish more fans could appreciate the pre Slippery days.

This little gem has it all....

It's a great song.

Also Silent Night (especially Cincinati 1987), Hardest Part is The Night, In And Out Of Love, Only Lonely, She Don't Know Me, Roulette, Shot Through The Heart, Get Ready are all songs that I really enjoy from the pre Slippery era.

Plenty of fans here appreciate the pre-SWW days.:D

I've never cared for this particular song though. It's not bad but it's never grabbed me in all the years I've been a fan. To be honest, I can only really remember the opening riff and chorus of the song now, that's how long it's been since I've properly listened to it. IMO, there are better songs on that album.

All Great Songs!

Like I said, if you're a Slippery and Jersey fan, there is no way to not like these albums. Not every song is a home-run but every song offers something of brilliance that lead up to Slippery and Jersey. Kinda like how the NJ demos are great but not as great as the album tracks. That's how I feel about the first two albums. They are Slippery and Jersey demos to me.

Jon's voice and his signature scream are apparent throughout. Richie's guitar riffs are brilliant. Some really great hooks, medleys, chorus' and just overall lyrics.

Getting back to Secrete Dreams.... I think the guitar riffs are awesome! Jon's signature scream makes an appearance. I think the only thing lacking in the actual chorus however the prechorus is what hooks me in. The part in bold... The way Jon sings the Oh, No, and Oh, Oh with a passion that no longer exists today.

Oh, no, I don't want to fall
Oh, oh, can't you hear me calling

All night long in my secret dreams
You tell me I'm the one
When I'm next to you -- next to you.
All I want in my secret dreams
Is you here with me.
I got to get to you, get to you, get to you.

I love a lot of the guitar work on the first two album. Some I'd say is better than even SWW or New Jersey.

7800 is a great album, but Secret Dreams is the worst song on it. Give me Hardest Part Is The Night, Price Of Love or Only Lonely any day.

I also love To The Fire, which not many others seem to!

Like you - I have a very soft spot for 7800. I am always surprised when others don't.

The song is pretty boring, but the record sure isn't. Great songs in there!

I think the chorus is kinda weak, but I love the Dave's keyboard-riff and the synth-sound of it in there!

I like the song. The lyrics are super naive, but they work.

This, The Price Of Love, The Hardest Part Is The Night (!) and Only Lonely are really entertaining tracks. King Of The Mountain and Into The Fire are rather embarrassing. The rest of the record's alright.
