The official 9th May 2018, New York, Madison Square Garden

Setlists, videos, predictions, disappointments...

This will be one of the biggest shows of this North American leg, but after the setlist from yesterday I don't see any significant changes being made to the set. Perhaps, it could be the return of I Love This Town.

beanz_on_toast 05-08-2018 09:34 PM

First time for me seeing a show in the USA - SOOO excited.! Should I expect differences from European stadium shows? Apart from the 02 shows in 2010 this will be my first arena shows

Panda 05-08-2018 09:38 PM

I'm writing this from the great lawn of central park. It's obviously gonna be a good setlist because I'll be there. This is also my first American show. These will be my 19th and 20th Bon Jovi shows, and quite possibly maybe my last ones.

Zakatar 05-08-2018 10:07 PM

I probably won't stay up for the PBP since I have an exam the following day, but I will definitely stay up for night 2, which will hopefully have the better setlist. It would be nice to still have links here just in case they do decide to play a rarity or 2 on night 1.:)

Well, the Eurpean stadium shows usually have a much better setlist.

Yes. Your show should be shittier.

Realistically, you won't have the chance of getting so much setlist variation as in Europe and the rarities will be less. However, I predict one rare song tonight since it's MSG and the venue itself is probably one of the most special arena settings to see the band in. If the crowd is remotely as loud as in 2005, there'll be a great atmosphere.

Haha I'm neither young nor negative :D I've seen this band 11 times, including 3 shows with Phil X ;)

Ah c'mon you're still a kid :D And I will have seen this band 78 times after the MSG shows :p

Zakatar 05-09-2018 07:34 AM

I know it's a long shot, but it would be cool to hear Goodnight New York performed at one or both of the MSG shows.

I'd rather have him sing the "Theme from New York" than this one. The line "garbage trucks backing up, beep, beep, beep..." makes me want to throw up each time.
Much like "get a ladder, there's a cat up in the tree" in Beautiful World.

That’s why there are different opinions: I love that line in Goodnight New York!

Yep, each one sees it differently. I'd be happy to have Real Love in the ballad spot for Amen (if he wants to go for a current ballad) and I'm sure many would disagree on this as well :)

Right! That line makes Good Night sound like a children's song. The one on Beautiful World isn't nearly as cringeworthy. :D

Haha but you gotta admit that it's quite hard to beat with regards to that :D
Have a great time! Are Paul and you going to both shows? :)

Savvi 05-09-2018 01:31 PM

Have an amazing time Eric and Kathleen, and everyone else going! I truly hope you get something special over the two nights :D

I reckon Always will be played.

How old are you? Is that 90 in name your year of birth or something else?

We are only going to night 2 - tonight we have ridiculously expensive Bruce on Broadway tickets that were Christmas presents. Otherwise we would be going to both shows :(

Ronny is here with us so we will at least go to night 2 together LOL

HarrisVonJovi 05-09-2018 03:32 PM

Opening Band?

Anyone know who is the opening band tonight?

I won't be able to stay for the PBP as well, as I have to get up early for school.

prepare to be slightly disappointed.. I think generally Europe get the best shows. That and the current state of the band.

There’s nothing quite like Bon Jovi at MSG. Enjoy everyone going to the show!

If anyone in the first 15 floors of the floor wanna take these signs for me - security isn't letting me go to the front because I'm in the back section of the floor :(

Security ruins everything. What are the signs for? I can’t see the pic you posted for some reason

100 sheets of paper requesting Dry County in bold print.

YOVANAfromPeru 05-10-2018 01:47 AM

Stupid security!

Isn't a lot of guys of here in the building?

Panda 05-10-2018 01:57 AM

First update: opener got booted off. House lights went on before their set was finished and their sound was cut off before they could finish (even though it was pretty much the end)

It was pretty savage though.
