Velvet Revolver
You can listen to the new album Libertad

Only heard the stuff from the EP and what they played live at Glasgow so far....
I'm not sure if I like what I've heard as much as Contraband. There doesn't seem to be any really stand-out tracks, whereas, on the first album I thought pretty much all of them were brilliant. I'll wait and hear the full thing though.... |
I hope the new album is good. I'm waiting to buy it next Tuesday.

There's a listening party in the Dutch Hard Rock Café this evening, where the album will also be sold. I'm sure my husband will bring it along when he'll return tonight :)

I've heard Libertad and though it's only the second album... I really don't think it stands up to par. I prefer Contraband as a whole really. I think there are better songs on Contraband, but I believe the guitar work in Libertad is much more structured. The songs that really stand out to me include Let It Roll, The Last Fight, Just 16, Spray, and actually She Builds Quick Machines. The current single is actually one of the heavier songs on the record. I would probably give it about a 6/10, maybe 7. Maybe I'll think differently after I listen to it loads more. I've only listened to it in it entirety 4 times.

Ive only listened to it once and i'm not that impressed .It sounds weak vocally and the songs themselves dont pack much punch . I would have thought after contraband they could have done alot better.

I've listened to a little bit of it. So far I like Let It Roll, She Builds Quick Machines, and Get Out the Door.

I'm not impressed either. I thought Contraband was an ace album, but Libertad is just too middle of the road for my taste. Few decent songs on there, but the majority doesn't even rock.
