Eddie Vedder is a big Bon Jovi fan

Its easy to poke fun at JBJ and the guys.
But Vedder is just dirt on their shoe. And only wishes he could be that successful. And then he would just complain about it, and write an album about how much it sucks. |
OMG he made fun of Richie's white fur coat! *offended*
=P |
Hm a little coward? Bashing infront of other people is poor. He should say it face-to-face but I bet he couldn't do that

Jealousy.
Pearl Jam isn't a bleep on Bon Jovi's success radar. When grunge wiped out the hair bands, it didn't succeed with Bon Jovi. Can you imagine Jon saying something like that? That's the difference between a guy with class, and guy without. |

I like Pearl Jam, some of their music is mind blowing and they were probably the best band to come out of the grunge scene.
But Vedder lost a lot of respect with this rant, he's picked an easy target and tried to make himself look cool. No cool Ed, no cool  |
Ah Pearl Jam, released first album 1991 and has managed to sell over 60 million albums, not bad.
But what's this? Only 8 years before Bon Jovi released their first album and have racked up over 130 million records sold despite a huge break in 1996 till 2000 which is bigger than any break pearl jam has ever taken. Pearl Jam have failed to sell over a million copies of any of their studio albums since 1998, over ten years. Wheras Lost Highway, Jovis latest album has sold over 3,800,000 worldwide in 2 years. I can see why Vedder is so bitter. I think we can proclaim a Jovi win. |
I don't like Pearl Jam, but I might as well take the opportunity to say that you lot are taking Eddie Vedder's comments to heart a bit. I'm sure Jon doesn't particularly care, and it's just his opinions after all!
On a slightly related note (artists discussing the band), Noel Gallagher did an interview with Chris Moyles on Thursday and Bon Jovi were mentioned. They were talking about Familiar To Millions, Oasis' live album they recorded at Wembley Stadium in 2000, and how Noel thought it was shit (quite rightly so). Noel said something along the lines of "We were the last British band to play Wembley Stadium. We were gonna be the last band but, err, Bon Jovi somewhat tainted that for us." For some reason he's always held off giving the band a proper slagging, like he does alot of bands, despite the fact he obviously doesn't like them. Maybe it's because he's met Jon and likes him? |
