Even half a week after its release, I still couldn't even humm American Reckoning since nothing of that song sticks in my head.

Exactly!!! All elements that go into making a song good to great have been removed. Singing in higher keys, note changes, hooks, melody.

When it comes to songs like this, the right chorus is needed and should contain some , if not all, the above. Something to grab you.

Think of a song like Weeding Day. The song is pretty bland until Jon hits the bridge and goes up a few notes and finishes the final verse in a higher key. In my opinion, that's the deal breaker and had always been Jon's thing. He somehow forgot that amongst many other factors that made him stand out from the rest.

Yep. I think "Lower The Flag" will be the "Scars On This Guitar" for this album.

I know what you mean. I'm Your Man was a nice surprise, though that probably stems from 1998 or something ;-)

I'm Your Man for me is an outtake from TC or WAN.

Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning is officially an outtake from TC, but according to Jon in 2015 the song (but he wasn't sure)was probably 8 or 10 years old, then could be an outtake from LH.

Also Who Would You Die For i think is an outtake from TC, Do you agree with me guys?

I've always gotten SUCH a "right before Crush" vibe from it! Shanks having a co-write on it though kind of debunks that.

Ever notice how Love Ain't Nothing But A Four Letter Word gained two additional writers going from the demo to the final version?

It's convenient for Jon to say "this was written BEFORE the Nickelback song that sounds a lot like it and was all over the radio when we were writing for the The Circle album", but I doubt it's true.

Jon never, ever gets these facts right anyway. It most likely was written somewhere in 2008 I'd say with them ripping off Nickelback :D The 10 year old one, however, was Blind Love.
I agree with others that I'm Your Man sounds just like it could've been taken from the Sex Sells sessions and reworked. Probably wasn't, but it sounds like that.

Yeah, It's probably the real story.. :D

Wasn't Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning on one of those Circle song lists?

And there was also a torrent where some fans "supposedly" heard it with Richie's guitar solo... I think it was Seb which means it's total bullshit.

Watching this video ... Jon is a bit of a jerk. He despises and underestimates songs like A Teardrop to the Sea, We Dont Run, Who Would You Die For. They are much better songs than all THINFS. He even realized late that We Dont Run should have made the right album.

In the vaults are the interesting songs, I'm sure.

He repeatedly says he doesn't hate the album and thinks theirs some good songs on it, how does that turn into "Jon is a jerk who despises...."

Because he doesn't want to be bothered about the album anymore, that means he cares little for those songs.
